There is nothing that has happened in the last few days that sets the market for Pietrangelo. And age has a lot to do with it. The players that are signing as Unrestricted Free Agents have earned that right due to either being 27 years of age, or having played 7 Accrued Seasons in the NHL. Pietrangelo has not done so. He is coming off of his EL contract. What sets the market for Pietrangelo, is the deals signed by players similar in age and ability to him. Such as P.K Subban. There is a huge difference between an RFA and a UFA. Look at a player such as Giroux. He signed a reasonable bridge contract between his EL deal and what he signed for recently. It's just rumors, but if Pietrangelo is indeed asking for 7M, I don't blame St. Louis for balking at that. 5M I can see, but not 7.

Yea I think that may be what he's having a hard time grasping (AP I mean) There's a difference in price when a team is buying RFA years compared to UFA. He might look at a deal such as Streit's who got 5.25 and think he deserves a lot more than that. Which I would agree if this was his 3rd contract.

With that said.. If we traded for him I still wouldn't have an issue giving him 7+ to make him happy because he is a game changer and is certainly worth it.

Are those your actual pairings? Pietrangelo would without a doubt be 1st pairing

No, it wouldn't be. I think it's more that the Flyers have put a Gagne signing on hold.

I might agree with you but Kimmo plays well with everybody and Schenn looked very good away from Kimmo as well when he was put on a pairing with Lauridsen.

At least this guy has gotten almost everything he's said correct (I think he's like 6/6 so far in free agency). Whether or not he gets it from another reporter is beyond me, but he still has been getting it right so far, which is why I trust him more than Eklund, who's like what, 3 for 70?

Not that I'm buying into any of this but I would consider sending Gustafsson as apart of the package going the other way. Pietrangelo would be an upgrade and Gus would be a fair valued youth going the other way.

Agree, although I think Gustafsson will turn into a serviceable top 4 D man. His offensive skillset and puck-moving ability is going to get better IMO. I think Philly should hold on to this guy.

True but im not seeing it anywhere else.I did read a story about a soccer ref killing a player on the field and then the fans beheading the ref.

Problem with that is that would his rumors correct and with EK you know you cant have that ......like has been previously said in this blog follow this guy he seems to actually have a clue he calls things correctly even before the TSN guys report....thats no BS

I only suggest adding Gus to any package because you have to give to get. AP is clearly the best player in the deal and the focus but the blues aren't just giving this guy away.

Seems like a bit too much.....I would rather trade Coots then Schenn for the simple reason that even if you sign Gags... if your giving up both schenn and read we are starting to have problems with wingers cause schenn can move to wing coots is more of a true center
