Giroux is a top 10 player in the league.
I would take Crosby, Malkin, Stamkos, Ovechkin, Kane or Towes over him.
I think that ranking for him is exactly right give his statistical performance and age .

I would take Crosby, Malkin, Stamkos, Ovechkin, Kane or Towes over him.

Actually g did take a hometown discount. Coming off his elc he signed for I think 3 years/3.75 mil. He took shorter term and money to help out cap. No proBlem with him getting big bucks now. Yes it is a risk. I have no doubt he will put between 75 to 100 points a season but the risk is is he going to dominate and take over games? Ala Game 6 against pit? If he does then his deal will turn out to be a steal as cap rises year to year. If not then he will be slightly overpaid. Time will tell
