What's your list? It's hard to know just which assets are available for trade, and Homer has said that he isn't shopping Simmer in response to the Montreal rumors. - JAKEw1234
Now I'm nervous. |

Ya the guy whos family that Homer must owe a favour to or is marrying his daughter or something - AGL_91
He got him cause "he plays just like zac" according to Homer. I agree with taking a player like that, just not in the 3rd round. |

I thought I would see more action today with trades (from teams) but it was a boring day. - stveshdy
Sometimes less is more. I like were the team sits at this point. Homer has impressed me with his 'patience' and ability to walk away from tempting deals. |

Well not really. He said he's not actively shopping him but if the right deal comes around that makes the team better he's open to it. And that's not really something you say if your posturing. |

beaulieu for Coburn + filler
would be a good hockey trade for us. Dunno how Habs fans think lol - AGL_91
Why does Philly have to add? Beaulieu hasnt done squat in the NHL and Coburn is a proven veteran. Montreal needs to add. |

What happened against the devils again? Oh yea we got bounced and he was suspended for the last game. The average team was the round before - JoeRussomanno
Didn't G have two bad wrists that series? |

That was a bad pick. Nobody can defend that pick. Trade down and get more picks and then be stupid. At least you get a 4th and 6th extra out of it. |

I don't expect Homer to tell anyone what he's doing.
Still don't see enough in that Montreal package to make me deal Simmonds. |

A quick stab (I consider draft picks as assets in this discussion):
1. G
2. Voracek
3. All 1st round and 2nd round draft picks for next 5 yrs.
4. Coots
5. L. Schenn
6. B. Schenn
7. Read
8. Simmonds
9. Morin (he's the closest thing to a potential two way top pairing d-man. They have to keep him and see if he can develop in that player.)
10. Laughton

Didn't G have two bad wrists that series? - JFlyers00
That was because of Crosby. After the playoffs Giroux had to have that wrist surgery, and told the media it was because during their series with the penguins that Crosby was constantly slashing his wrists whenever they were skating near each other. I just remembered that, thanks for bringing it up
It's one more reason that I don't think Crosby deserves to be listed with the all time greats. He's as obnoxious as a 10 year old and has the leadership skills and maturity of one too. |

I thought you said assets that were up for trade? I don't consider G and Voracek up for trade. And listing trade picks as assets is fine, but listing "all 1st round and 2nd round draft picks for the next 5 years" isn't. I don't think a trade has ever happened in which a team traded all of it's 1sts and 2nds for the next 5 years in a package. |

I think if MTL didnt ask for anyone more in this deal it would of happened already. Although I think Coburn is a extremely valuable piece for the flyers now and in the future I cant see why Homer would move him for a guy like Beaulieu. Just my take on it put if he is a offensively gifted as some of the reports I have recently read, then you pull the trigger |

No what I'm writing is basically no one is untouchable in the organization, even G and Voracek. However, it is highly unlikely the Flyers would receive such an offer that they feel compelled to move either player. As far as the draft choices, high picks are used in trade all the time. Some used for the upcoming draft, other traded a few years down the road. It happens all the time. I'm hoping the Flyers get away from using high draft picks for rental at the trade deadline. |

Seems like a lot of the big name NHL reporters took well needed time of today due to the playoffs, draft, and free agency which may lead to lack of pretty much zero rumors and reports |

I can't agree with your point. I still think there is a huge difference between a player entering into his 2nd contract coming off of an EL contract. Then there is for a player coming off his bridge contract. And even bigger difference for a player who is a UFA. - MJL
You're missing my point. I'm probably at fault.
But as an example, look at Patrick Kane's contract history. Same for Toews. Both leapfrogged right from their ELC's to a 6.5 mil contract in their respective fourth years.
It's been done before and certainly won't be the last time. So there's no need for Pietrangelo to grow up. His demand's wouldn't set any precedents. That's already been set years ago.
Ovechkin. Malkin. Stamkos. Doughty. Taylor Hall.
And sorry for the very late response. Just got back from a wedding. |
