If people want to complain about a bad GM, look at Amaro. - Jsaquella
does amaro, w/ the pressure of a franchise altering TV deal looming, have more leeway to spend or gut the core than homer? is the howard contract worse than the bryz one? are the prospects he traded away coming back to haunt us or the major one he stuck w/ finally developing?
i have issues w/ amaro too,but just food for thought... |

NHL - Flyers Source pointed out today that one trade Flyers discussed previously that could pop up again was Couturier + for Hedman.
Would anyone actually be interested in this? Does Hedman have any offensive upside? |

I forget if you've voiced your opinion on this, would you rather see Scott in the NHL or back in juniors next season? - JAKEw1234
I'm OK either way. I don't think there's much harm if he stays in Oshawa another year |

Don't you think it could stunt his growth at all to continue to play 2 levels down from the NHL? |

seems like he'll always leave you wanting more, but still an improving plyr cleaning up his mistakes. |

Holmgren took over the worst team in the NHL and had them making deep playoff runs within a year or two. Amaro took over the World Champions and each year they progressively got worse.
The mistakes Holmgren has made are certainly out there for all to see, but he's earned more cache than Amaro has. |

Small risk, he can't play in the AHL, which would be ideal. I would be OK with him on the NHL roster....who knows, maybe we'll see him up anyhow if a trade goes down. |

Sometimes I really feel like the only one who likes Homer as a GM. |

I will definitely say amaro is worse. The phillies have been in a nosedive since he took the reigns, homer has had the team on a roller coaster that spins on its axis, which I find better than an all out free fall. |

I'm not sure homer's mistakes are all his own... Bryz's statement after he left mentioned snider repeatedly. |

Don't we have like 14 forwards now not counting McGinn and Laughton? Do you think realistically (Sometimes I throw out fantasy trades that include Read, but I don't actually know if he's going to be traded), someone from the forward corp will be traded? |

Well I think the entire Bryz thing is Snider's fault. Didn't he essentially order Homer to go out and sign him? I think if it was up to Homer we would've continued to let Bob grow. |

I like him, too. He's made mistakes, but he does an overall good job. I've seen enough Jay Feasters and Darcy Reigers to want a change |

Could be. I don't buy the "We're happy with the defense" line. |

Me neither. It's not a bad corp in general, but it's too old and although Kimmo is a great dman, it still lacks a true #1 stud to lead it. |

Yeah I agree, but getting that stud is hard. That very may be we love are defense because there is nothing we can do to improve it without gutting the core of our team and were not gonna do that |
