his value is not very high right now. I would be happy with a prospect for the AHL. Anything. Future considerations. We need the space. Not the value. - Deasr1
Can't limit yourself to what your trading partners are limiting you too. Mez, when healthy is an excellent Dman. Wait until he's healthy and then setup a conditional deal. The good thing about gaining these assets without trading anything is there is no hurry. Homer can be patient. |

I say wait a couple weeks and call Nashville. Offer Couturier, Coburn, Cousins and 2 1rst for Weber. Trade Mezzy for a prospect. Resign Gagne.

Not competely against trading Mezzy but trading him for nothing is stupid, when he is healthy he is a good player. - flyerfan28
We're over the cap. And ideally a team should leave one or two mil open during the season. Somebody has to go.
Trading a player with a sizable caphit on an expiring contract who also is by far the most injury prone player on the team is not a "stupid" move. |

When healthy, that is a scary team. Even if they wanted the Schenns plus Cousins and the picks, it still works. We would have space for the trade at the deadline for another scoring winger. Just not much to trade with. |

Pre-season. By opening night, you must be cap compliant. And then LTIR comes into effect. SO you have to be under by opening night. |

Having an injured player does not count as having a 13th forward. You need an actual healthy scratch on top of Wellwood in case of injury.

Then use LTIR after day one....And why would you need a healthy scratch? Never knew there was a rule for that. |

Holmgrem has no problem using LTIR and Im sure he will do it the second he can. The penalties for doing it are greatly exaggerated. |

At this point as of today no we arent, would have to take for example...leaving Laughton off the roster and waiving Gervais. |

we're cap compliant at this time because of the 10% allowance. I wanted to know when the 10% allowance ended and the poster said it ends at the start of the regular season. |

I don't know if it's a rule, but it's strongly advised. And using LTIR on day one would cause us to add something like $2 or $2.5 on our cap next year. |

Right so yes you are allowed to go over 10% during summer but before puck drops team has to be at cap. So for now they are ok but will need to make a move within a month or two. |

Not sure, I remember when we were all talking about it in yesterday's comment board MJL pointed out that LTIR Pronger would have cap repercussions. |
