She could probably handle Cabin in the Woods then. It's fun... In a dark way. - FlyersGrace
Cabin in the Woods is actually based on the Evil Dead movies.
It's practically the same cabin and they even get Ash's car in it. That car has been in every Sam Raimi movie i think. |

How can you not be awesome next to Daniel Day Lewis. He could make a chimp look like a good actor.
And all I have to say is "The Beach" and I cringe. - FlyersGrace
Was that the one where they travel to that weird island where they have to get away from the coke shrubbers to get on and off? |

I'm not into that either but that's not how I'd classify it at all. It nothing like Hostel and that genre. I have no tolerance for that crap. - mayorofangrytown

Agreed. It's not torture like some of the 70s stuff. But it's violent and graphic as all hell. I loved it. |

No Cameron Diaz was really bad and really didn't fit at all in Gangs of New York, and she was like the 3rd co-star sort of. It wasn't Dicaprio's best roll, and ya I actually think I liked Day-Lewis more in it (he's always really good), but still a Dicaprio-Day Lewis duo is pretty awesome. |

Actually the very first one is scary. The second two were intentionally comedies.
The new one is mortifying. I have three dozen years of watching horror movies and there are only a couple scenes in all of them that were cringe worthy for me... The scene in the second Saw movie where they throw the girl into the pit of hypodermic needles and the scene in Cabin Fever when the girl is shaving her legs in the bath tub.
The new Evil Dead made me cringe for a good 45 minutes straight.
I highly recommend it if you're into that kinda thing. I loved it but it's totally over the top. - mayorofangrytown
Torture stuff and ultra-gore is the stuff that really gets me and stays with me after the movie. It's why I remember The Collector so much. Or in Sinister, if any of you have seen it and remember the lawn mower scene or the pool drowning scene... That's the stuff that really gets to me |

I can see why he would. He's a purist. He probably rolled his eyes when they said it was getting made. Trust me, I didn't love all of it but it was a hell of a ride. If someone asked me to pick it apart I could probably convince myself I hated it too.
Of course I didn't. i loved it. |

Yeah I'll give you he's grown a great deal as an actor and I'd rank him as one of the better ones. Considering I used to turn his movies off that's saying something. Part of it too though is he's been better at picking good movies. Much like Johnny Depp chooses films to define himselfa certain way Leonardo has a big enough name now and he's made some wise decisions on roles.
Unlike Sean Connery who turned down playing Morpheus in the Matrix cuz he didn't get it. and then accepted a part in League of Extraordinary Gentleman....

My friend and I were the only ones in the theatre and about half way through it I turned to him and said, "Seriously, man, can we pause this poop and take a break." |

DiCaprio has really done well for himself. I can't believe he was able to shake the Titanic / Romeo&Juliet stereotype and actually be accepted as a fairly tough actor. |

I was supposed to see it opening night, but wasn't able to stand up without vomiting that day/night. I saw it a few weeks later, and was the only person laughing when the rain started. |

Didn't that happen to Ian McKellen? He was offered the roll of dumbledor in harry potter and he turned it down cause he didn't think it'd be successful. Then he took the roll of Gandalf. |

I think he made the right call on that one.
When the Dumbledore is gay rumors came out... |

I think Morin sucks. By the way, I've got two tickets in the lower bowl, parking included. After the game I usually drive my BMW and meet with my buddy Mark Messier for beers after the game. - MJL
I hope Messier's wearing more than a washcloth. |
