I watched it recently. And let me quickly preface this by saying I haven't read Batman comics in years and did not know who Bane was. That said...
It was a bore. The Bane character had no substance. The storyline was uninteresting most times and ridiculous the rest. I didn't know what Ann Hathaway's Selina contributed to the overall plot except eye candy, and to do in one second what Batman couldn't do in 165 minutes - rid Gotham of Bane.
Oh, and it was about 30 minutes too long.
Bale's Batman 4? Pass, thank you.

That article was written 4 years ago and was referring to the Dark Night Rises from what I read.
I doubt there is a Batman 4.

If we truly wanted to have 1a and 1b lines, we could put Voracek on 1b (giving him the same amount of ice time, of course) and simmonds on 1a. That way Voracek can even out the scoring between 1a and 1b a bit. Voracek also has very good chemistry with Schenn, which is a plus. And he could also be the speedy winger that Lecavalier really lacked and needed in TB. Simmonds is speedy too but ya know. - JAKEw1234
I think if you were to do that, then instead of switching Simmonds and Voracek you would switch Voracek and Lecavalier.
Hartsy-G-Lecavalier
Simmonds-Schenn-Voracek
Having Hartsy G and Simmer on one line puts too much pressure on G to carry the puck, as Hartsy and Simmer are more dump-chase-crash-bang than puck possession types. Just my opinion. Lecavalier said he would be more than comfortable on RW. |

His voice was annoying as heck.
And was that mask tattooed on? I found myself shouting out "rip it off already and be done with him". |

Bane was awesome - JAKEw1234
He was awesome until the end, when they basically turned him into the real villain's puppy dog. He pushed Batman to the brink all movie and then they quickly disposed of him in the end. It was the only part of the movie I was disappointed with. |

Yeah, I'm pretty sure if he depends on a mask that stops him from being in constant pain, it's going to be on pretty tight. |

Yup, those lines do make more sense. Hopefully BSchenn could develop his face off game a bit more. |

lecavalier is a perfect 2nd line center for this year. im guessing down the road if coots were to develop they asked him if he would be ok playing RW. |

Bill mentioned this. I cannot remember if it was on the message board or his blog but it's been brought up. Just have to unload Meszaros. |

That's my thought process almost exactly, maybe once down the road if Schenn really steps up his two-way play and faceoff ability, or if Coots found his offensive game with more consistency, that Lecavalier could be bumped up to 1st line RW or over to 2nd line RW. |

Pretty sure it was in the blog, and I read it tweeted this past friday if I am not mistaken. I'd have to assume that the Flyers are waiting for Meszaros to clear medically so that they have options to choose from in terms of a trade. Something has to give on the blueline with Schenn, Timonen, Grossman, Coburn, Meszaros, Streit, Gustafsson and Gervais all top 6 defenseman, not to mention MAB was cleared to play and Lauridson is an option as an adaquet call-up. |

I'm cool with Hall being back. Hes cheap and effective. Holmstrom is a good faceoff guy at the AHL level, but in his NHL career he's 20-36 (around 35%) at the dot in what is admittedly a small sample size. - Jsaquella
Sure, Hall's good for high-50% but during the course of 82-games, he's only going to take about 300-450 faceoffs because he's not going to see more than 8-10min of ice per game. That's only about a few dozen more faceoffs per year than a league-average 4th-line center (around 50%). Most of those draws will be inconsequential, maybe a handful will result in additional scoring chances against, and scarcely a couple could result in additional goals against... is that marginal difference really worth the use of a contract slot? I'm not sure.
If Couturier can get closer to 50% and Giroux stays in the mid-50's, the Flyers will have almost all of the critical, game-on-the-line faceoffs covered. Hall's faceoff prowess, while nice, just isn't the difference maker it's made out to be. |

Bane became poppular in the comics around the time Death of Superman was huge. Bane was famous for breaking Batman's back but at the time Batman was paralyzed for an extended period of time. Bruce Wayne then originally had someone replace him as Batman (some blond guy) to fight crime and keep up appearances. Once Bruce Wayne was ready to become Batman again, the blond guy wasn't ready to give it up. So they taught. |

What about the fact that Hall is considered a pretty solid PK? I for one would like to see G taken off the PK for rest especially during the season. Having Hall take draws on the PK as a second unit guy will be a big upgrade over Talbot or Read |

It's a matter of percentages. Hall gives you more options. I don't know the numbers, but it seemed they Flyers were awful on faceoffs in their own zone the first half of last year. |

It's not a difference maker, otherwise, he'd be making more than $600K.
Hall simply gives the Flyers a proven option and solid 4th liner, who can help on the PK and win draws. Maybe all it means is that Laviolette doesn't have to use Giroux for every defensive zone draw, which could lead to him having to take extra shifts, and he doesn't waste energy trying to clear the zone and get off the ice.

That's a big "if" for Coots. He has to get stronger to help with his leverage at the dot. Or sign up at the "Bobby Clarke Faceoff Camp" this summer. |

With hard work, anyone can make themselves a good faceoff man. Look at Giroux and Crosby. Both of them worked hard to improve their work at the dot.
That said, I like having Hall around. He gives options to the coach and lessens the load on Giroux to be the key faceoff guy |
