I'm not downgrading Voracek. I think he is an all star level player. That's why I want to move him down to make the team more balanced. Giroux will produce points with almost anyone. Moving Voracek will make the overall team better. I like Voracek a lot. That's why I think he can control the play himself and doesn't need to play with another player like Giroux.
Do you think the Pens would be better with Crosby and Malkin on the same line or on two separate lines? - PhillySportsGuy
But isnt that kind of what you are doing? Vinny is a 30 goal scorer and a center. You want to move a guy that hasn't scored more then 24 goals over a long season to a 2nd line centered by someone that isnt ready to play 2nd line center, and move a top notch 2nd line center to the first line wing... in the name of depth? Your hurting the team's depth more by doing this. |

What happened to Mark Streit? Last time I checked he's a PP QB. What about Vinny? Pretty sure he can also do that. And Couturier? He definitely has the smarts. - JAKEw1234
He wanted Streit and Timonen on the same unit. Does nothing for the second unit. |

I'd call Lecavalier more of a 1st line center that's playing 2nd line. |

Vinny can pinch hit in that 1st line role, but I think he's declining at this point of his career such that a 2nd line role is probably better. |

I think Voracek is better than Vinny. Therefore switching them out with each other would add more to the second line. I don't think it will effect the 1st line as much.
Schenn and Voracek had good chemistry. Schenn had his best run as a pro when playing with Voracek. It was Lavi who kept thinking Briere and Schenn belonged together like Romeo and Juliet. |

He's a 2nd line center. He played on the same team as Stamkos and put up 2nd line numbers. |

The only way I see Lecavlier getting a look with Giroux is on the PP. He's too good of a faceoff man, which is something this club desperately lacks. |

He's typically put up around .8 to .85 points per game over the past few seasons. I know he's not an elite stud center anymore, but most teams that were also in on him in free agency wanted him as their #1 center. |

Talbot-Couts-Read
McGrinn-Laughton-Rinaldo

If they put Streit on the top unit, he will replace Timonen. Not sure if they would play both at the same time. It would leave the second unit with Gus, Luke or Mez (If healthy) - PhillySportsGuy
Mez did well with Ottawa early in his career with PP time. But with injuries and being behind guys like Pronger, Kimmo and Carle when healthy, not so much Power play time. |

All three look great in Orange and Black! Can't wait for the season to start. Now just trade Meszaros and sign Gagne. End of offseason.
Hartnell - Giroux - Voracek
Simmonds - Lecavalier - Schenn
Gagne - Couturier - Read
Hall - Talbot - Rinaldo
Laughton - Rosehill
Streit - Schenn
Timonen - Coburn
Gus - Grossmann

Ray Emery in the presser seemed very grateful at the care and expense the Flyers took with him to find the best surgeon and place to get his hip operated on. Cited this as one of the reasons he wanted to come back to Phila.
Seriously, it is pretty amazing that he recovered from avascular necrosis of the hip and is even able to play again.
For as much as the Flyers medical staff gets maligned, this is a nice to hear about, from one of the players. |
