They'll still get much less TOI. Voracek's minutes will be slashed by a very sizeable amount. Then his production will go down. Then people will wonder why his production's gone down. Then everyone will want to trade him
- JAKEw1234

They won't get slashed by that much. His numbers may take a slight dip, but if the teams winning, people won't care if he scores 65 points instead of 75.

Can't even imagine what Jagr has to go through to find some pants.

I feel so bad for him now. I'm 6'1 200lbs and I feel like I can never find the right pants. It must be hell for him.

If it was like last season his time will probably be slashed in half, going from 160 mins as it was this year to around 80 mins like most 2nd pp guys had this year. If that's the case he'll only be getting around 14 or 15 points for the entire year on the PP as opposed to 25 or 26 that he's be getting on the 1st unit.

If the 2nd unit is good, Lavi will spread the time around a lot more. The 2nd unit was so bad this past year. He knew it was all or nothing with the top unit.

He's outgrown that league.

Not sold on that. He had a great year, but he didn't totally dominate it.

I simply don't understand the whole line of reasoning that Laughton has to be on the big club this year. He's a kid. There's always something he could be working on.

He might help, sure, but what has he accomplished at the junior level that he deserves the whole "he's too good for that league" line of reasoning?

you get a lot better playing against better competition.

In 8th grade I played in a basketball league. My friends decided to all play with grades 6th-8th (Meaning they would be the oldest). I decided to join the 9th-12th grade league. By the end of the year I had significantly improved compared to my friends.

I suppose. I dunno maybe I'd be open to it. They would have to try it in preseason first.

Tired of these horrible long-term signings. They always make the wrong moves, and they end up paying for it in the end.

Now, they're all out of CBO's and they're stuck with him. Should have traded him instead.

10 day contract. Contract will be extended another 10 days based on HockeyBuzz Readers' analysis.

Things will change throughout the season. What works early may get stale later. I would at least experiment with my idea.

I don't think so. He had a cup of coffee in la, and will be going into his 3rd season here. He was a top 5 pick and at one point was the top rated prospect in hockey. With the talent and pp time he Gets in Philly exoecting 20g/35asst is too much. Now if we didn't have the talent or he didn't have the talEnt then I'd agree. Not saying if he didn't hit my expectations that I'd give uP on him a d demand be get traded but would be disappointed for sure.

40 point season would be a good one for him. Dude hasn't shown much to think he can score 60.

Agreed. When I was 14, I was playing roller hockey and practiced with the #1 men's league team in the nation (NARCH, not JO, if that means anything to anyone). By the time I was 17, I was playing MLRH against guys who'd been drafted by NHL teams and had played ECHL hockey, and I think it's because I was always playing against those guys.

Laughton wasn't even Oshawa's top center last year. he played behind Boone Jenner. He will not be hurt if he stays in the OHL one more year. He played well, didn't dominate.

Not saying he can't make the jump to the NHL, but he won't be set back by another year in juniors.
