I hate Basketball, but I liked Jordan vs Bird NBA game.

But the BEST NES game ever was California Games... Loved the surfing and hacky sack.

Not NES, but I liked Mutant League hockey. Clunk (Clarke) skating all over the place with a chainsaw in his hand always made me smile. I don't think I ever won a game by outscoring the other team.

I think a spiritual successor to Mutant Football League came out last year. Never got to try it, unfortunately.

I was awful at the half pipe. Only thing bad was some of them (surfin, rollerblading) ended with you wiping out no matter what you did.

I think that would be a mistake as then you would have no-one on the second unit with PP QB skills.
- youarewrong

3rd period of game 7. Down a goal, and the Flyers get a PP. You want your best PP defenseman, and best point shot on the bench? The 2nd unit normally comes out with less then a minute remaining, and it's very difficult to get set up and get quality zone time. Streit greatest strength is as an offensive and PP defenseman. Look at the differences in PP icetime between the first unit and 2nd unit PP players. If your not going to maximize his PP time, and use his abilities to the fullest, why sign him?

A friend was trying to argue Lindros didn't belong in the HHOF. I didn't say whether I believed if he did or didn't, but I created this as a way to show him his case had no legs. Needless to say, it shut him up. And yes, I believe Lindros belongs in the HHOF and I wasn't even a big Lindros fan. He was my 3rd favorite member of the Legion of Doom.

Edit: And more importantly, both passed the "eye test" which is the most important judge as to if they belong IMO. They both had that "it factor"

- five4fighting10

That's a great chart. I think the thing thats kept Lindros out is expectations. People believed he would change the game and win multiple Stanley Cups.

It reminds me of JVR (Obviously JVR is not close to his level). JVR is a good player, but his physical characteristics and where he was drafted, leaves everyone wanting more from him.

If anyone doesnt think McGinn could play on the top line all I have to say is Steve Downey.

That said, I'm not even sure he makes the team. I think there is an equal shot of McGinn, Raffl, Straka, & Akeson all in the mix for a shot on the team. I think it will all come down to what position is open. I think in camp Hartnell gets first grab at the top line. He has played there and done well there in the past. If he has a poor camp then he will be moved down.

If the Flyers want to fill a top 6 scoring spot I think they will choose either Akeson, Straka, or McGinn.

If they want bottom 6 I think they will look for McGinn or Raffl.

- youarewrong

Steve Downie was a first round pick, and a has a lot more talent then McGinn has offensively. Even then, Downey is a stretch as a first line player. He's closer to a 3rd line player then a first line player. Raffl is a an offensive player who needs a lot of work on his all around game and his play away from the puck.

From what I understand about him Raffl has a good two-way game.

Never played Persona, but otherwise very yes.

If you have the opportunity, and enjoy JRPGs (as your co-sign on FF and Chrono Trigger indicates), then I cannot recommend highly enough that you play at least Persona 4. To this day, the only reason I removed it from my Vita was because I got a Vita game in from GameFly, I've dropped over 200 hours getting 100% of the trophies... it's perhaps the cheeriest RPG about death and depression ever, and the characters are so well developed (at least in the main party) that I half think I know them better than I know my co-workers. Without doubt my favorite game.

They're different players. The PP is designed for Giroux to QB the PP along the left half boards. Timonen is at the point, Hartnell is in the high slot, Simmonds is parked in front of the net and Voracek roams the right side. I think Lecavalier can take Voraceks spot because he is a smart player with a good one timer.

Voracek can then go to the second unit and qb that PP. I think, after Giroux, he is the next most qualified player to QB a PP. The second unit struggled to get settled in the zone and get pucks through. Voracek and Streit will help with both of those things.

- PhillySportsGuy

Voracek won't get enough PP icetime. Look at the discrepancy between first line PP players, and the rest.

A 4th line center making $600k for one season should not be the determining factor in whether or not last year's 1st round picks makes the team or not. If he comes into camp and deserves a spot, I'm sorry but the great Adam Hall may have to be the 13th forward.
- jmatchett383

Hall should be penciled in as the 4th line Center for every game, barring injury.

The difference in the PP players time is because the second unit was horrible. With a better 2nd unit you will likely see a more even split of time. What would rather sending out Streit and Timonen on the same unit, then the second unit comes out with what? Grossmann and Schenn? Sure in game 7 you pull out all the stops in the last minute, but during a normal game, you split them up to have even units.

True or False. Steve Downie was a player without first line talent playing on the first line?

Thanks. I obviously didn't include everything (World Championships, Junior performances, etc) but figured it hit the main points.

Agreed, I think expectations factor in, as well as all of the off the ice stuff between his family and the organization.

So where are you putting Laughton, since you said he will be absolutely making the team? If Hall is your 4th line center, which I agree with, and Couturier is your 3rd line center....
