The difference in the PP players time is because the second unit was horrible. With a better 2nd unit you will likely see a more even split of time. What would rather sending out Streit and Timonen on the same unit, then the second unit comes out with what? Grossmann and Schenn? Sure in game 7 you pull out all the stops in the last minute, but during a normal game, you split them up to have even units.

I would guess the 2nd unit would have Gustafsson and Lecavalier at the point.

I like how the PP is set up now. Just move Hartnell to the second unit. Timonen's defensive ability allows Voracek to sneak in low. Streit will be able to do that on the second unit with Meszaros or Coburn playing with him. It would be 2 deadly units that dont have to be played as 1 and 2. You can put the freshest line out. If Giroux's line was just out on the ice with Timonen for a while, the second unit is just as capable of scoring so let them start the PP.

Awesome quote, sounds like it needs to be on a pregame pump-up video or something like that.

Fortunately or unfortunately I remember both. I was at game 6 in 1974. Had the pleasure of meeting Freddie at a banquet. He was kind enough to engage me in a hockey conversation and was very patient with my teenage questions.

40 point season would be a good one for him (Schenn). Dude hasn't shown much to think he can score 60.
- Flyersgod

Well, his numbers this past season would project out to 45 pts (in an 82 game campaign), and this was during a debacle of a season where he was moved around a lot, playing with V, then losing him and playing w Briere etc...
I think it's reasonable to expect something above 50 pts this season if he's given the chance.

I agree mostly, I was just trying to clarify that if Kimmo and Streit were both on the 1st unit that would probably be the d on the 2nd unit. I would actually support this 1st unit

Simmonds - Giroux - Voracek
Timonen - Streit

It keeps alot of it's main components, the front of the net bully and deflection/screen machine (Simmonds), the corner board quarterback (Giroux), the defensive mastermind (Kimmo), the sneaky backdoor shooter patrolling down near the right boards and around the right point. It just takes out a bully and possession keeper (Hartnell), and adds a second defensive mastermind and hard shot at the point. This still let's Voracek maintain his thing and sneak around the back for shots from the high slot, which is one of the biggest aspects of the powerplay.

BSchenn had a 27 point pace in his rookie season, then a 45 point pace in this past season. If he continued his growth rate he should theoretically be able to put up 60-65. But that doesn't account for the fact that he'll be playing with someone like Vinny Lecavalier, which either makes it more likely for him to reach 60, or makes it more likely that he surpasses that and, dare I say, get to 70 or somewhere in that area *knockonwood*.

And the best part about it was for all the spontaneous celebrating there was hardly any violence or vandalism reported. It was a real love-in.

Clutternuck is better than Cooke
It's like with Cooke vs Avery.
Avery was annoying, Cooke is annoying and legitimately dangerous. I'd much rather face Avery

He does. Even he raises eyebrows about what Smallwood says. Smallwood said Lindros shouldn't be in the Hall because he was never a dominant player. I guess he missed the 90's.

Who will play more games Emery or Mason?
