I think Gagne is more an important player then some choose to give credit. If we want to remain a deep team, we need Simon Gagne or someone like him at least. I suppose I just can't give Max Talbot enough credit of being a consistent 19 a season goal scorer or a consistent third line player. Talbot to me is a four line penalty killer with the ability to fill in on the third line. - dingo8urbaby
I have concerns of Gagne's ability to stay healthy, and him returning means that a younger player has to be sent down or stay in junior. I don;t have an issue with him returning if the deal is right. |

Brain fart.... If Philly sends Laughton down to juniors, is it after (he) or (team) plays 10 games? |

I'm more of a believer of a middle age vet like Gagne, Lecavalier and Hartnell to help us win a Cup over a kid coming right out of junior, unless he's a high prospect. |

Riddle me this: Maybe I missed it, but with Gus signed to a one-way deal, what are we going to do with 9 defensemen for 7 spots? |

Gervais possibly waived coupled with a trade of a defenseman, which many have been predicting |

Playing him in like 2 out of 3 games then 2 out of 4 games? That would give him almost a quarter of the season growth with the big team then send him down. I think that would help him and the flyers. When you sign the guy before the trade, doesn't it give the acquiring team more leverage? |

Just seems like we are in a more weak position with the urgency now. |

Why burn a year of his ELC to keep him for the first 20. Keep him all year, or send him down. Not to mention the Cap space it takes up. And that would mean less off season Cap space for the following off season.

I think he makes the team anyway. Slice this roster any way you'd like, he forced himself into the opening day squad last year, and he'll do it again and likely stay this time. Smart, tough, skilled forward. |

I know I'm late on this but...
Freddie "The Fog" Shero is FINALLY in the Hall of Fame!!!!
Bout frankin time too!!!
1st NHL coach to incorporate Russian training techniques
1st NHL coach to use an assistant
1st NHL coach to lead an expansion team to the Stanley Cup
7 straight semi-final appearances: 73-78 with the Flyers and 79 with the Rangers
4 trips to the finals: 74-76 with the Flyers and 79 with the Rangers
Back to back Cups in 74 & 75
I only wish they could have done this while Freddie was still here to live it, but at least he's finally in.
I'm old enough to remember those 70s clubs, they were the reason I starting playing hockey and fell in love with the sport. They were hard working, down to earth Canadian boys and Philly will never forget the Broad Street Bullies and Freddie the Fog!

Two different players. I think the team needs more two-way talent. - PhillySportsGuy
My only concern with Gagne is when was the last time he made it through an 82 game season without getting injured? |

False. We really only have to trade Mezaros, and no one expects to get any good return for him to begin with, because of his injuries. Trade him for a 4th rounder and we could actually call it a summer if we really wanted to. |
