When Rosehill and Newbury do anything to resemble the two of them you give me a buzz and I'll buy you a beer. - mayorofangrytown
I think Hall is that kind of player. Rosehill is a 13th forward. Dont get your panites bunched about a 13th forward. |

Yeesh, good point. Especially with Gilbert.
Maybe just use a regular buyout on Meszaros? There's another window coming up soon, right?
Or worse options:
1. Waive and demote Meszaros -- very little cap relief and alienate player
2. Trade Grossmann or Coburn -- open to Grossmann, but not Coburn
3. Meszaros (or someone else) as 7th d-man - bradleyc4
could mezs play in europe?
if i were faced with the choice between being sent to the ahl for the crime of having three separate injuries, or playing in europe i'd choose europe |

So many unlikeable Seravallis on that team, though they became less hate-provoking with the departure of Matt Cooke. |

I'm not. I'd rather see a younger player get whatever minutes he's chewing up. I'm assuming Newbury will play with the Phantoms. |

Does anyone know what the minimum roster is for opening night? Is there even one? I know you dress 20 on a night. |

Maybe they will buy Meszaros out and hope the cap going up next year covers the the $1.83 million cost.
2013-14: $333,333
2014-15: $1,833,333 - Feanor
I actually wouldn't be surprised to see that end up being their best bet for negating most of his cap-hit for this upcoming season... it would also fit their M.O. of kicking problems down the road. |

When MOAT came to my son's hockey game this past season, I felt protected from the angry mob of parents from the rival rink's team. Like he could grab the jawbone of an ass and mow them down, Samson style. |

I think I remember a team a couple years ago carry below the roster limit due to cap problems. |

I'm not certain of the rules regarding loaning contracted players to Europe. But if both sides were in agreement, I'm sure it could happen. Just might not be any cap relief from such a move. |

Only way it could work is if he just walks off and they suspend him, a la TT.
I don't think they can pull a Huet w/ the new CBA.
Mutual termination is an option, but do you see Mez walking away from $5.5M big ones? |

No. But I'm sure he could recoup the money plus more signing a new deal in the KHL.
But I don't think these are realistic options, no. |

The Calgary Flames had to do the same thing at one point in 09, where they were dressing 18 and 19 players instead of the full 20 because too many players were hurt, but not badly enough to go on LTIR, after the TDL. |

Cool thanks for the info fellas....I noticed Wellwood hasn't signed his tender is it possible that he may wait til after opening night for cap relief? According to capgeek Flyers can get under cap without dealing anyone....would have to waive Rosehill and hope Bourdon and Gerv clear waivers. No expert so not sure if that would work ans that's with Wellwood signing after opening day. |

FYI, if I stop posting it could be because of the Zimmerman trial. I work in Sanford. Very, very, very dangerous place without all this race/trial crap.
Pray/Hope for no riots plz. |

Hell... we've been dressing 19 players for years... We always have one guy on the team finish the game with 2 minutes of ice time. Complete waste.
