Your original point is about being forced into roster decisions on both Laughton and Gagne due to the 50 contract limit.

"I have a bigger problem with them giving Yann Danis (and to a lesser extent, Adam Hall) a contract slot that could mean them losing Simon Gagne and/or being forced into a decision with Laughton over slide purposes due to being up against the 50-limit yet again."

I disagree that the Hall and Danis contracts are forcing roster decisions right now. The ridiculous amount of money they have committed to defense is the reason Gagne isn't signed yet. If they lose Gagne to another team it will be because they were unable to clear salary on an overloaded blueline, rather than the modest contracts given to Hall and Danis. And if Laughton forces them to keep him in camp, they are not going to be "forced" to slide his contract "due to being up against the 50 contract limit." They will waive Hall and he will either get claimed or he can be assigned to Phantoms without counting against the cap. They're not at 50 contracts in either case. In no way does the 50 contract limit, Yann Danis, or Adam Hall force a decision on either player.

Well said. I think that Laughton can play Wing on the 4th line with Hall at Center. It comes down to choices for the Flyers. Not being forced into anything. That's just drama being created.

As it stands, they can't sign Gagne and keep Laughton right now without hitting the limit before the season even begins... which is a bit of a disadvantage.

I wasnt here, so pretty sure it wasn't regarding the demise of the organization lead by the senile and Viagra overdosed Eddie Snider.

There are a lot of commercials up here for Reds Apple Ale. Any good?

That is inaccurate. As of right now, the Flyers have two open contract slots available. One contract slot open if they decide to keep Laughton.

I dunno, if they were a good team they could change the perception of the Rosebud to be badass. I mean, I guess the name Rosebud isn't all that bad.
- JAKEw1234

They actually played for the Stanley Cup, so that's pretty badass. Unfortunately, they folded and became part of the Chicago Blackhawks.

Signing Gagne will destroy our prospect pool, Hall is a useless player, most anthems singers are terrible, Texans are racist, Weber is expensive, the Devils are screwed, the Seattle Reign will be an awesome NHL team, the Portland Rosebuds will strike fear into their enemies when they join the league, all NHL players are leaving for Russia, we're a nice organization, singular team names are stupid. Did I miss anything?

So the Seattle Seals and the Portland Rosebuds will be the next great NHL rivalry. I'm psyched.

watch them end up with a top 3 pick, only to have it lost since they owe the pick for the ilya contract.

With Kovy gone this clears the way for Gagne to NJ.

Always that chance. Should have given up the pick last year.

Would he even sign with the Devils if he had the option? He's French, but he's a Philly lover. He wants us, like a lot.

How does the redistribution of that pick work?

Limbo contest with the GM's?

My apologies, I misread what you wrote. My point is that I have no idea what your point is. And even if they hit the limit by signing Gagne, it's not a big deal. It never has been, and won't be now.

I don't know about you. But I don't want the team that I root for to have Cap space unused, contract slots unused. So we can join all the other teams that fall short, and don't use all the resources they have available. That's not how I want my team to operate. There's nothing wrong with being at the limit. They should be at the limit. Every Season.

I don;t mind if they're under the contract limit. That can really handcuff a team.
