I just expect it now, man. I'm like a whipped puppy when it comes to that guy. I fully expect every single game that the Flyers need to win against them will be a loss, with Brodeur and Elias driving in the shiv.

It's unreal how those two have brutalized the Flyers -- Brodeur looked done like dinner in 2010, when the Flyers busted them up. He looked absolutely and completely done.

I couldn't believe that was the same guy who beat the Flyers in 2012. A 40-year-old freaking goalie who looked completely done TWO SEASONS before comes back and somehow beats you two years later?

Only that guy, that franchise, against us. Only them. Two of their three Cups absolutely should've been ours, in 1995 and 2000.

They should be kissing the ground we walk on we have more playoff wins in the past ten years

The thing I like about our tandem is I have a strong feeling that the whole will equal greater than the sum of it's parts.

imo it all boils down to lavy's defensive scheme. if its similar to the end of last year i think our goaltending will be a pleasant surprise.

They can sign Gagne right now if they can meet his asking price.

So based on the cap limitations how much money do the Flyers have to sign players before the end of training camp? Not an advocate of doing that or not doing that, just want to understand the parameters of the situation.

I don't have the exact numbers in front of me. They have some off season Cap space to use. But they are already projected to be about 2M or so, over the 64.3M Upper Limit already, including Pronger. So whatever they would sign another player to, would be added to that figure.

Per capgeek we are $2,053,522 over the cap. With the 10% cushion we can go up to $6,430,000 over the cap. $6,430,000-$2,053,522 = $4,376,478

I get $1.576 million using 1.1x64.3 million - cap salary. Is that right?

Where to begin. The Off Season Cap doesn't work that way. I've stated this many times. Capgeek does not keep track of the off season Cap. For instance, none of the values for any of the players on 2 way deals that they have to account for in the Off season. Is included in that figure. Such as Lauridsen, Konan, Manning, Akeson, McGinn. etc.

In laymen's terms that's 10% over $64.3 million - current cap salary(using the entire $2.8 bonus cushion). I don't believe that includes the fact that Wellwood's cap hit, by rule, will count against the cap? Not sure on that.

There is a huge difference between the in Season Cap accounting rules. And the Off Season accounting rules. It's completely different.

Here are the off season Cap accounting rules. For your reading pleasure.

All players on one-way contracts, regardless of where (or if) they were playing the previous year.
All players on two-way contracts, in proportion to the number of days spent on an NHL roster the previous season.
All restricted free agents who have been extended a qualifying offer (while the offer is valid), with one-way qualifying offers counting in full and two-way qualifying offers counting as described in No. 2.
All restricted free agents signed to an offer sheet (such players count against the team extending the offer sheet while it is still valid).
All buyouts.
