Tremendous!

I try to tell people that Jakub Voracek's been getting it done at an elite level for the better part of a season-plus, and I get that blank stare like, "I don't believe you."

- AllInForFlyers

Me as well... I dont know why I didnt think about doing something like this sooner.

People still dont believe that Voracek is worthy of playing on G's right wing, despite being arguably a top 5 talent at right wing.

Buffalo Taxi Assoc. asked Darcy to void the trade.

The cap recapture penalites under the new CBA make Weber's contract a tad scary.

You give the odds.

1. Flyers trade Meszaros and sign Gagne.

2. Flyers trade Coburn and sign Gagne.

3. Flyers make a major move for a top young d-man.

4. Flyers make a major move for a top young scoring winger.

5. Flyers trade Meszaros, but dont sign anyone else.

Voracek was half of the Carter trade, and outscored him heartily this season, and still fans of other teams think we fail because we traded him

The Predators aren't a team too worried about the cap ceiling. I believe Weber is the type of player who can play until he's 40. His actual dollar amount is very low for the last few years of the deal. At this point, his deal is pretty team friendly. It was the 23M in one calendar year that made it difficult to swallow for the Preds.

That's a great set of statements.

See, what I think they should do is totally clouding my judgment. The price for a young defenseman is likely cost-prohibitive. So, to me, I think you double down on offense and make sure you can outscore average-to-below average teams, which means you make a major move for a top young scoring winger.

So, mark me down for #1 at 70 percent and #4 at 30 percent.

(I say that because I don't KNOW that Brayden Schenn can score 55 points or so next season. I want to believe that he can and will. But at the same time, I don't know that...I do know this: We need somebody at 2LW who does. Or making the playoffs is going to be really, really difficult.)

Its getting to be that time for B Schenn....He has dominated pretty much every level he has been at except for the NHL. This will be his 3rd season in the NHL granted only second full season. I'm excited to see what he can bring this year and Im expecting big things hopefully.

I would focus on what a team like Boston did to a top offensive team like Pittsburgh. And how they shut that offense down, and why. The Flyers don't need more offensive talent. They have all they need. They need to drastically improve their all around game, especially on the defensive side of the puck. Then the offense will take care of itself.

Not adding a top defenseman, is far more scarier. And the effects of that is something that is definitley going to happen, if they don't. Versus something that might happen a decade from now. Emphasizing might.

Agreed on both counts.

I remember when Barber retired, but don't remember him being 32.

Good job Bill.

I was hoping that you might give us your point of view of re-signing Gagne vs. having a kid like McGinn start the season with the Flyers. Or at least giving us some in site of what you might know about the Gagne situation. The pros and cons of it. Bill, do you want him back?

It is also important to note that he does not, and never will have, a NMC or NTC.

I believe this season is the season for Brayden Schenn. His dominant play at what I believe was his second stint in the World Juniors was nothing less of leadership, know how, hard work, skill and determination. That performance was true flashes of greatness. I have no doubt that it was translate to the NHL.

The price is scary. If it will really cost us Coots and Voracek and a 1st + then I want no part of it.
