I think in arbitration it can be a one year deal with the option to the team to double it to a 2 year deal.
Unless that changed in the last CBA.
But yea... I think 2.5 5 to 2.8 million will work!!! - jimmc7722
funny...the other day you were saying two years with an average annual salary of under a million. |

Why in the world would we need that?
plus, Pronger would block the trade...
XxNYIxX - XxNYIxX
Makes no sense !Philly is going to put Pronger on LTIR so they won't absorb cap hit |

So Travis Green is going to be a coach? I remember when Milbury called him a "gutless puke". I'll love that line forever. One of Milbury's only positive contributions during his tenure as Isles' GM. - Jethro09

Quick Travis Green story:
The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim (as they were called then) were making ther NY swing playing the Islanders, Devils and Rangers a week. They rented the ice rink at Montclair St. College for practice between games. I think it was the 1998-99 season my son and I decided to go and watch practice. After practice, you were allowed to take pictures and get autographs with the players. Travis Green gets off the ice and comes towards us and I stopped him and said I was an Islanders fan and enjoyed watching him play. He said was it ok for him to give my son his stick and then he sign it for him. We still have the stick. A very nice guy...good luck Travis, I hope you coach in the NHL soon... |

I was on business trip in philly when the Flyers were playing Toronto and saw a few guys walk bye that looked familiar. One was green.. so I called his name. told him I was season ticket holder to isles... he was pretty funny. "So you're the guy" .. he chatted with me for a while about what a HUGE difference it was in Toronto. Can't get away from it.. etc. I thought he was a good guy. ... Plus Milbury was a doosh and we both agreed on that point. |

Brutal for the Devs. So glad Isles did not sign him. Cannot blame Lou for this signing. This was all owner signing like DP. |

Kovy retires. WTF! So, Lou signs him to a cap circumventing deal for 15 years, costs the Devs a first rounder next summer and now, after free agency is over, Kovy gets homesick and decides to retire? Boy, did Kovy just "F" the Devs over. they forefeited a first rounder to sign him and now he takes off on them and didn't even have the decency to do it before free agency started. Wow... |

Umm how? it frees them up. He wasn't over 35 when he signed the deal so it comes off. |

they now have more cap space, but lost their best player, who's contract also cost them parise and a 1st round draft pick. For 2 years of service (and 23 million pocketed by Kovalchuk)
wow. I thought only the Isles got bent over like that. That's....hilarious!

Lots of cap space and knowing Lou they will probably make a deal for Malkin and it will somehow(?!?!) only cost them a 1st rounder.
Kovy really did F them over, though. |

The worst is yet to come for the devils,
No first round pick for them this year which will probably be a top 5
Looks like they're bringing back trap hockey |
