Plus, it's not like Penner is a dynamo bottom 6er anyway. Probably one of the best offensive weapons left, but he's moreso a mediocre 2nd line option.

We'll put it this way: if I had a pretty good inkling that something better would open up via trade 30-40 games into the season, I'd wait it out.

Penner is king of a crappy pile of remaining FA options.

I'll take Penner 1,000 times out of 10 over Jones. Work ethic is useless if you suck. Penner helps EDM with depth and size. Good possession player. Apparently EDM will keep Hemmer if the right deal isn't there. Hemmer was great with Penner.
