Do you think that because you have NHL sources reporting it, or do you think that just cause you're a penguins fan and the league obviously revolves around the penguins 24/7? - JAKEw1234

Leaf fans are used to losing but, at least we aren't delusional. The Leafs will be in the 10-6 range again next year, barring significant changes. Teams need to take incremental steps to become a contender and the Leafs are on the right path.
Edmonton fans seem to think they are going to jump to the next level by going with the same crappy players as last season, or land a first line player for a combination of Hemsky, Gagner, Smid and Petry. - Lipchitz
Thanks for the diagnosis. We'll need some quiet reflection time to process your truth bombs.
Run along. |

Just tuning in, and I don't actually know what players you're comparing here, but may I say that you do indeed come across as a hardcore homer. - JAKEw1234

Oh I realize that - I wouldn't move a player like Simmonds anyhow - I was just stating he's the type the Oilers really need. I agree with you, he's way too valuable in every aspect.
So many people just comment on stats & they base a player on stats alone but Simmonds, as you mentioned, does so much more on the ice(beside score) and he's a great teammate, I know he has a foundation in Philly where he helps less fortunate kids with getting them started with hockey.
Great guy all around which is why it would take something special from any team to pry him away from the Flyers & he's exactly a Flyer thru & thru. - newmy
It's funny how we tend to find good guy players like that. Obviously there are guys our rivals don't like (Hartnell), and would say is a doosh, but he's such a good guy off the ice, and has his own charity and stuff like that. We're good at finding high character players for some reason |

What we really need is the NEXT simmonds/bickell/clarkson. A guy that becomes a dominant power forward on our team. A guy we can acquire or groom without depleting our depth in other positions. Tall order, but that's what's required. |

How? - 6Karlsson5
Firstly, your username is 6Karlsson5. Don't give it away or anything. Secondly, you seem to have the opinion that your players are more valuable than everyone else's players just cause they're your players. At least, that's how you've come across to me. You have good players, but realize that your team isn't strong because of a great roster, he's strong because of amazing coaching. |

That's actually a trade I'd jump on if I were the Oilers. |

Fixed. Not a bad deal but regardless of how godlike Pittsburgh thinks Letang is, it's a huge hit to take on. |

Oh yeah, he looked pretty damn good from what I read about his freshman year. We're lucky the guy was a small fry that no one paid attention to and then went crazy growthspurt on us |

I'm a pretty conservative guy and I feel like you're just asking for trouble considering 8 player deals. Too many variables to be truly thinking straight about all the angles. |

Username has nothing to do with what I say, Spezza is a top center in the league and better the Gagner, Turris and Gagner are about the same but I prefer Turris (maybe begin a homer) and Zibanejad has crazy potential, put it this way I wouldn't trade any of them for Gagner straight up |

Not like it would actually happen from either teams perspective. essentially swapping half the bluelines and more. Just hockeybuzz idle chatter. |

From an outside perspective I'd take Gagner over Turris for sure. It's questionable whether or not Zibby will ever be more than a good 2nd liner, but at the moment Gagner is the superior player. |
