I don't know if I'd play Mac on the 3rd line. Putting him on a checking line doesn't really help his offensive game much, look at what we've done with Couturier so far. He should be the #2 just so he can be on a scoring line and given mostly offensive opportunities. - JAKEw1234
Mac has to make the team first, 1st overalls are expected to however it's not written in stone they have to.
If he's not ready, he's not ready & the worst thing any team can do is rush young players.
Gagner shouldn't have been playing in Edmonton his first season either, neither should have RNH(too light, needed to fill out) whether you want to agree or not. |

Yes and I maintain my point. Canadian goaltending is in a major state of flux. There is no clear cut starter that holds both stats and pedigree to his name. Price, Ward, and Luongo had bad years last season by their standards, but are the most likely to be chosen, and while neither Crawford nor Dubnyk are as high profile as those others, both had better stats than the aforementioned 3 and certain accolades/performances that may help in their selection (Crawrford has the most recent Cup, and Dubnyk has Int'l experience with Canada). I'm not saying he necessarily should be selected, but are you going to turn him down if (one the VERY off chance) he goes into the Olympic break sporting a .930 Sv % and a sub 2.10 GAA if none of the other have such?
Face it. There are no "locks" for Canadian Olympic goaltending. If you got your head out of your ass you'd understand what I'm saying. - MaximumBone
I will say this right now - Dubnyk will NOT even get an invite!! |

And playing him another year in junior where he can fill out wouldn't have hurt anything either, instead all he gets now is pushed around by the bigger, stronger players around the league.
That's why the Oilers need big wingers like Simmonds so liberties aren't taken against those slimmer, skilled guys. |

Dubey had the tied-3rd best SV% among Canadian starters this year.
Say what you will about stats, I'll take a guy who puts those kind of numbers on a sh*t team. Price on the other hand has a .905 behind the 2nd place team in the east |

It doesn't matter, he's not getting an invite because he's not a proven #1 - why even argue about it, you know he won't & so does everyone else. I'll tell you right now Price will get an invite before Dubnyk ever will - guaranteed!! |

Really, Gagner has had 1 good year, RNH has not proved anything yet.
Can he be a slick setup man, absolutely but to say both have succeeded is untrue. |

so with that last quote of 'whether you want to agree or not', you're basically preempting those of us who might have a different opinion than you by stating yours is fact?
well, im sorry but I don't accept that. and id also like to add that I don't agree with one thing that uve said in your post

who is everyone else? find me 5 other posters that think Dubey doesn't get an invite to camp.
had a better SV% than price this year, same SV% as price last year. Price has had 2 above average seasons out of 6.
Price's career average .915%
Dubey's career average .913% behind a sh*ttier team
If dubey ain't goin, price ain't goin |

in their rookie seasons? Yes they did succeed. You've gone from 'they shouldn't have played in EDM immediately' to 'Gags n RNH haven't proved to be top Fs' |

Really, we'll see!! He's has a hell of lot better chance than Dubie ever will. You fans in Edmonton have Dubnyk on a pedestal, the guy has proven squat yet. Why the hell do you think MacT is NOT comfortable with his goaltending heading into the season??
