So it still applies or did the new CBA nullify that contract escalator. - Marshalle
I would imagine the bonus structure is the same regardless of CBA, but as has been pointed out, the bonus goals might be different this year (the final of the contract), and there is the cap bonus during the off-season.

LTIR doesn't kick in until it's actually used. Teams have to be cap comliant on the last day of training camp. - MJL
So unless LTIR can be used on the last day of training camp, there could be a brief cap problem window for the Flyers, right? |

The Flyers have to find away to remove 2.5M from the Cap by the last day of training Camp. While avoiding placing Pronger on LTIR to do so as best as possible. |

The opening of the window to take the exemption coincides w/ the transition between offseason to in-season cap, I think. Otherwise, teams would be screwed by the shortfall.
Demote Couturier/Schenn/Laught before the end of camp, invoke Pronger's max LTIR exemption, then call everybody back up before game 1. |

Perhaps you feel you are being treated unfairly?
...Good. It would be unfortunate if he had to leave a garrison here. |

I keep hearing about LTIR impacting offseason cap space or next season space or tagging or something. Please someone (MJL?) clarify this and please show me specifically how LTIRing Pronger (or anyone else in the past) has impacted the team. |

Since it's the Flyers, they'll deem it cap circumvention, and the Flyers will be hit with a $10M fine and forced to forfeit 80 consecutive first round picks, AND mandated to resign Ilya Bryzgalov to his former contract, starting back at year 1. |

If the Flyers use Wellwood's LTIR before the season does that limit the cap to 64.3+Wellwood's salary? Even if they don't use Pronger's? |

Flyers had to carry 1.4M in bonus overages for the 12/13 Season. And 182K for the upcoming Season. |

Keith Ballard was injured when the Canucks traded for him a few years back...
Think one of Samuelsson (when he was traded to FLA) or Booth might have been, as well, if I remember correctly, but I don't think it was a serious injury. Higgins was, as well, when the Canucks traded for him....they seem to have traded for a few injured players the last few years.
Yeah, it happens... |

It would be less. Same scenario as has been explained as to why the Flyers want to wait until the first day of the Season to place Pronger on LTIR. |

LTIR can't absorb bonus money, only salaries for injury replacements. |
