yeah. i dont know why but im just not a fan person. i feel they just blow hot air around. i recently just bought an individual room unit for my back bedroom, but i dont really have any experience with them. had it going for a day now, and am trying to debate if it is worth the electric cost - stayinthefnnet
I get a bit of cold air upstairs....it's just not what it should be. Especially relative to my downstairs, which gets to be like an icebox.
I'm at the point now with the fan that I need it just to fall asleep. I suspect the noise of the fan helps me zonk out. |

Not at all. Just being glib.
Love Hextall. Honestly think it's a good move by the organization. Guy is a Flyer through-and-through. |

Actually I posted the wrong thing. The players cost redistribution system deals with revenue sharing. Exhibit 16A covers the make whole payments. As of right now, I can't give you much on that. I haven't really digested it yet myself. With the CBA, you can't just read most things once, and grasp it. At least I can't. It takes some time. I'll get back to you.
Just looking at it quickly, it's 100M to the players on October 21, 2014,15,16 - MJL
Thanks man. I appreciate it. Maybe I'll snag a look myself any way then we can yell at each other about what neither of us understand yet.

Your idea wont and let me give you an example instead of explaining.
Dallas offers Jagr a 5 year deal at age 41 knowing he only has 2 years left. They front load the contract to pay him the bulk in the first 2 season, lowering his cap hit significantly. By age 43, any doctor would find him unable to play, groin knees, etc... and the Stars effectively give him like an 8 million worth of cap hit for say 5 million, or whatever. - youarewrong
This is a good example. But I think the type of injury you mention is exactly the reason they have the rule.
However, what if Jagr got hit by a car? It doesn't seem fair then that his salary should hamstring the Stars in the off season from making moves they need to make. It is an extreme example. |

Nothing you type with any amount of enthusiasm will come through as anything but sarcasm.
Now go turn this into the first lyric of a hit song.

i understand totally. my room upstairs will stay pushing 80, while the living room and all downstairs is frigid.
i was really hoping this window unit would be the answer, but so far it is driving me absolutely crazy with noise. its only a 6000, but my room is fairly small. it makes it bearable, but nothing like downstairs which is what i was kind of hoping for |

That's why the 10% off season exemption is there. I do think that there is an issue there with that. As players salaries escalate. I think the 10% needs to be raised.

10% is 10%. It gets bigger every year the cap increases. How high do you want the overage to go? If the cap gets to 80 mil does the overage need to go to 12 mil? It's going to be hard enough to pull 8 mil back under. |

Yep. Fantastic video. The guy is a flyer through and through and he's back where he belongs. I still hate when another player wears 27. It should be retired by the team. |

It's not hard to pull it back if you have a player with an 8M cap hit that will go on LTIR.
Hypothetical. The Cap is 70M. The off season exemption is 7M. The Flyers already have to include Pronger at 4.91M in the off season. That gives them a little over 2M to play with. Now, God forbid, Giroux gets a serious injury that ends his career. The Flyers now have to carry that 8.25M in the off season. Still think the 10% is enough?

If you have a disaster that's going to be the unavoidable consequence. Of course if it's my team I'm always going to want more room. Hell, I want more right now.
Maybe 10% isn't enough but it's where they've put it. You aren't talking about continuing sliding the percentage as the cap goes up are you? Like 15% at 80 mil, 20% at 100 mil? Trying to understand where you're going.
Edit: Maybe they should set it at the percentage a single player can represent on the salary cal as a max contract. Is that where you're headed? |
