The only players remaining from the 2010 SCF team are Giroux, Hartnell, Timonen, and Coburn.
That's a huge roster turnover in 3 years. - PLindbergh31
For reference.... Hawks had 9 players remaining from that 2010 team when they won it this year. Now Bolland has been dealt so its down to 8 I believe. |

Fair point. If Rinaldo keeps playing with the type of reckless abandon at his size, his shelf life will be that of a fruit fly. - PLindbergh31

Sooo theoretically, Mez could come out next season ready to prove something. He HAS to make it big next season or his career is in serious jeopardy.
So if we do hang onto him I won't cry. Much like our goaltenders it's do or die time and I think he knows it. (His agent does). - FlyersGrace
I don't think his career will be over, but most likely as a Flyer it will be. I would not be opposed to keeping Mez and trading Coburn since you can get more back for him. I think Meszaros will bounce back to his former self, he might be even better for having all that time off. He will come back hungery, healthy, and ready to earn a new contract. |

your point was received, and understood, and followed up with a counter point which you then fail to recognize. fine by me. keep doing your best though to tweet at every writer in the country trying to make a name for yourself. - flyershockey

So what you're saying is that if Mez doesn't have a bounce back year Homer's gonna treat him like Nancy Kerrigan to make sure he goes on LTIR?
(I do realize that's not at all what you implied) |

Did you watch him in the Playoffs? Im not saying he is a terrible player.. actually, he is a very good, very rare, d-man. He is not elite, but he is above average, and to have the ability to be a 40+ point d-man, and play the physical game he plays... its something else.
However, he does routinely put himself out of position. - jak521

Yes, I did watch a bit too much wrestling as a child. Why do you ask? |

whoops didn't mean to bold it but still we need team defense players not guys that you hope don't hang his D partner and the goalie out to dry while he tries to get on Plays of the Week. Great now everything in bold. |

"Routinely puts himself out of position"... Leafs fans were muttering that same line for years about Luke Schenn, too. |

EDIT, per Katie Strang of ESPN, it's a $16.5mm total value, AAV of $3.3mm - Jsaquella
That was a really good article. The Flyers have to count Wellwoods salary, but they can use his LTIR on day one as well, right? |

ya but his was because he was/is too slow. I always thought that Schenn was never going to progress in TO it would have to be somewhere else, if he did progress that is. He was brought up too early etc etc etc. We all know the story. Dion on the other hand, with him what you see is what you get, he isn't getting any better than he already is. What ever price we would have to pay to trade for him would negate any of his positive value. And it seems like his personality causes problems wherever he goes. I know this could be just perception but it is out there. |

Well since they didn't make the playoffs, I guess it would be appropriate for next season.

So much better than "Hungry for More" for 08/09.
Although my least favorite was "Why Not Us?" from SCF Game 4. |
