Can't hang the Kovalchuk deal on Lou. Ownership did that deal. He was against it. Let's wait and see if with the retirement they end up losing that first round pick next season. There are people who think with ownership changing that they won't. - mayorofangrytown
If they get away with that, its utter bull and manipulating. They took a risk on a guy, were penalized for circumventing the cap, and just because thier risk didn't pay off doesn't mean they shouldnt be penalized. |

How did he get banned and for how long? - youarewrong
I think he got life.
I can't remember why but he had been banned so often it was probably cumulative. He would PM the refs and wasn't shy about personal insults. When he doesn't like someone he really, really doesn't like them and he certainly doesn't mind telling them on the internet or to their face. |

I agree with you, but I've heard more than one talking head float the idea when they talk about that 29th pick from 2012. |

It's one major thing that makes Sean Avery one of, if not the most hated player in the NHL right now (assuming he ever comes back, thought he got buried in the AHL) and Rinaldo a respectable agitator. Rinaldo will line up with the big guys and fight very often. I still remember when Avery hit Thomas on the back of the head with his stick when he was skating off, and tried to make it look accidental and skated away casually. When Thomas realized what happened, and charged Avery, Avery just ran away like a female dog. Please tell me I'm not the only one who remembers that? - JAKEw1234
sounds about right...
remember chief calling him a gutless puke and trying to get at him in the hallway to the dressing rooms? |

I dont blame Carle at all. And I don't mind going after Suter or Weber, but he did both without any kind of back-up plan. That was my issue. - youarewrong
I've heard about that before. There is no backup plan. If you need a top defenseman, you go after who is available. If you don't get them, then your SOL. There is no plan B. Can't have one of it's not there to be had. |

One of two things will happen.
1. The league will allow the devils to retain the pick
2. There will be a closed door lottery for the pick which the penguins will win |

If the new management agree to move the team to Seattle, then I'm OK with them getting the pick back. |

Gus (IMO) is not ready for top four minutes yet. - Marc D
The final 10 games of last season (when he averaged over 23 mins of ice time) and the World Championships (led gold medal winning team in ice time, wasn't out for a single ESGA the entire 10-game tourney) have raised my hopes that he can. |
