Rumor in Edmonton has Clifford coming to the Oilers for 2 players who don't stand a chance of playing in the NHL - Mitch Moroz & Tyler Pitlick. If this is true, the Oilers are about to fleece the Kings - BIG TIME.

It's a rumor started by that moron blogger from Edmonton. Everyone is rumored to be going to Edmonton for nothing. |

Clifford will be traded for picks, LA doesn't want salary, and they don't need bad prospects. Clifford is also a 4th liner who wants to be paid more than he's worth. Frankly players like him aren't hard to find. We all love him, but if he doesn't understand how the cap works, then it's no loss. Lewis is far more valuable to the team than Clifford is. |

Welcome Jason. After the silliness of your predecessor, it is great to have some real analysis. Will be looking for Andy in the near future. BTW Rob Blake is a class person. Some fans like to throw around turncoat when Blakey's name is mentioned. Hardly any one stays with one team any more. He represented the Kings well during two tenures and helped our wonderful trip to the 1993 finals. This is a great move. |

While I agree Lewis is more valuable, Clifford has some upside and has scored some clutch goals...at the sametime, ask yourself this. Why do we have so many D-men signed right now? There is going to be a deal, but quite sure what DL has cooking at the moment. |

I think Martinez will be traded, Ellerby could be shipped out as well... If Mitchell is able to play, Schultz will probably be the 7th D-Man, if he's not healthy then either Martinez or Ellerby will be the 7th.
There's obviously going to be a deal somewhere though. |

Great to have you here! I mostly read Habs blogs, but now that I live in LA I'm trying to get into the Kings as my West Coast team... I love that you started with the system... I know a lot about the Habs system, almost nothing about the Kings'.
The Habs were in talks about Clifford, but that went away... they have some strong pieces to trade away so I'm sure the alleged Oilers deal is bogus. I can't wait to find out what happens with Clifford. I think he's going to be amazing... one day. |

I wouldn't move Clifford unless I received either a top 9 gritty forward back or a prospect & a 2nd round pick at the least.
I agree, I love the way he plays, problem is he doesn't bring it every night the way he can & if he did, I think Kyle could be top 6 power forward. |

Actually, you both are wrong, but what else is new... From Twitter...
" The Mayor John Hoven @mayorNHL
Keep an eye on Edmonton. May be getting a new fast food franchise.
9:21 PM - 17 Jul 2013"
That would be John Hoven, a journalist who covers the Los Angeles Kings on Mayor’s Manor and is VERY connected when it comes to hockey in Hollywood. Not from a Edmonton Oiler Blogger (who you owe a apology too) but one of the top and most respected LA Kings Bloggers out there.

Why? Because only Kings fans can post in the Kings blog?
OK.
Quality response. Not unexpected. Stay classy. |
