I think it would be odd for a Western Pennsylvania kid like Umberger to have a Flyers tattoo.

Geez, Gostisbehere has amazing speed. I know there's no contact and it's a bunch of kids, but every time I see him play, his speed blows me away. And he can really fire them.

Stolarz looked big, but he looks like he does the same thing as Bob where he ends up looking smaller than he is by getting compact in net.

Morin was noticably slower than the other guys in the video. But, if Lauridsen was able to hang in the NHL, I don't see any reason why Morin can't get that worked on.

Cool video, thanks!

Some observations:
Hagg: Skates very well and also seems to handle the puck extremely well and has nice hands. This guy could really end up being a steal at #41,

Morin: Skates very well for a big guy and is just freaking huge. When he fills out he could be scary, looks like he may need to work on his puck handling a bit, but the potential to be a stud is there

Stolarz: The one thing that stood out to me was that he seems to move really well from post to post for a big guy.

Ghost: Looks really agile on his skates, but he will need to add at least 10 lbs onto his frame to compete at the pro level.

When you consider how close he was to making the team last year, his adding 15 lbs and his strong play in juniors last season, I would be surprised if he didn't make the team.

The one thing I really like about the Flyer defensive prospects are their mobility. Such an advantage in todays NHL to have a mobile defense. Helps so much in transition, back check and jumping into the play offensively.

I have no problem with him making it.
it's just a matter of if they need him. If they don't, then don't burn a year.

Yes, this is exactly how they should approach this year with Laughton.

Yea but where do you put him? Id rather not waste a year of his contract. Let him have an overage season in the ohl and bring him up next yr.

He's not even overaged to play junior. He's only 19 and won't turn 20 until May 31st of next year.

When he turns 20, if the team is inclined, either bring him to the big club or stash him in Adirondack.

Ha the funny thing is I heard that rumor back when I lived in Pittsburgh. I actually had a class with his brother in law (or maybe his sister was his gf, I dont remember) and that tattoo story actually came up once. He told me it was just a rumor and I actually forgot about it until Bill posted that correction lol.

Playing a kid in an inferior league can stunt growth sometimes. I believe he can help the team now in a 4th line role.

Ture, but when you almost made the NHL last yr and are NHL ready this yr, I consider that an overage season.

Put him on the 4th line over Rosehill. Again, many 1st round picks start out on the lower lines and work their way up. If he comes into training camp and outplays players, then he should be on the team, ELC or not.

It would be pretty stupid for any athlete to get a tattoo of any team.

You can find plenty of cheap help to bolster the 4th line.

I personally would rather send him back and have him primed for a 3rd line role next season -- not burn a year of his ELC -- and not have him become a UFA until age 27, instead of 26. Get the most out of his prime years.

If he comes into camp and wows everyone, appears ready for a 3rd line role now, then so be it. Sign me up.

I think Talbot may have a Pens one, but that may just be a date (in french). And I think Recchi has 3, one from each Cup winning team.

In he's on the 3rd line, which 2 of Giroux, Couturier, Schenn, and Lecavalier are wingers or 4th line centers?

I think it's the opposite. They should consider what is best for the player and his development. If he looks like he's not ready for the NHL, then send him back. But I don't anticipate that being the case.
