I agree with that but Rinaldo, Talbot, and Laughton forms one of the best 4th lines in the whole league. If Laughton would be playing with Rosehill and Hall on a nightly basis I wouldn't want him playing there.
- JAKEw1234

I personally feel Talbot should be on the 3rd line. I'd like a 4th line of Laughton-Hall-Rinaldo.

Both players played large parts of thier rookie Seasons on the 4th line if I'm not mistaken.
- MJL

I'm not arguing that. Just stating that Carter's first 8 or so games was on the top line.

Maybe I'm old school, but when did starting on the 4th line and working your way up become a bad thing?

Artificial sweeteners have actually been linked to increased hunger, lower metabolism, deregulated blood sugar levels... so unless you like weight gain, increased instances of heart problems and diabetes, I'd stay away from Diet Coke.
- Tomahawk

Funny, since the only people that use artifical sweeteners are fat people with an already increaased hunger, lower metabolism, and deregulated blood sugar levels.... Sounds like a phoney report... lol

We're talking about working up the roster, not from ice level to a suite.

But how's he gonna score a prorated 92 goals on the 4th line?

Oh sorry I'm still in the habit of assuming Gagne is being resigned and playing on the 3rd line. That's my mistake.

In the mid 90's when we had Lindros, Brind'amour and Otto, we were a very good faceoff team bit we were also good when we had Roenick, Primeau and Handzus. Another time that stands out is when we had Roenick and Primeau and added Oates nearing the end of that season.

Because, as a wise man once said (in yesterday's comments ), Matt Read could score 70 goals in a season if he was playing with Messier, Coffey, Anderson, and Kurri. That's not a rip on Gretzky, I'm just saying that his goal number was prorated to try to eliminate inflation that might've happened because he was playing on such a stupidly stacked team.
- JAKEw1234

To be fair they changed the rules to curb his goal scoring. His totals took a drop after that. If they had continued who knows what kind of totals he'd have accumulated.

Sadly, Oates was pretty much Kent Manderville at that point. He won a faceoff and then...kinda skated for a bit then sat on the bench.

i'm okay with whatever happens, the part i don't get is why on one hand fans moan that they wish we developed like the redwings and didn't rush players but as soon as we have a tweener suddenly that idea goes out the window

Ya but it's hard to look impressive when you play with that guy. Hell coots got this guy a goal last season
That's an amazing feat in itself. If he can get that guy a goal I'm entirely convinced he's the next Gretzky

A reporter asked Wayne Gretzky how many goals and points he would score if playing against current players. Wayne replied 40 goals and 80 assists, to which the reporter replied, Really? You think this generation is that good? Why such low Numbers? Then Wayne replied, Because I'm 52 years old.

- youarewrong

I think he would put up the same or better numbers in today's game

I would rather Laughton be sent back to Juniors for 1 more year. With the cap situation, and center situation, and the fact he can't be sent to AHL if he struggles, I think it would be the best for the team.

The real problem is that the middle ground, the AHL, has been eliminated.

I don't think he is a tweener. I think he's ready for the NHL. I, also, don't think the Flyers have rushed players under Homer. Only Sbisa that I can think of
