If the flyers extend b schenn out 2 years he's still restricted at the end right? |
|
|
|
The Flyers and the fans know what they got in Streit. No one is under the illusion that they acquired Streit to take Timonen's place. The Flyers have Schenn, Coburn, and Grossmann to play the tough minutes. Defense is a team game, and involves all the players on the ice, not just one defenseman. If the Flyers don't improve defensively as a team overall, it's not going to matter. Meszaros' injury history far outweighs Grossmann's in my opinion. - MJL
Not only is Grossman's injuries less worrisome, Grossman is also better suited for the current state of the team. In my opinion Streit is Meszaros' replacement, not Timonen's. How do you even replace a guy like Grossman? Grossman is far and away better options such as O'Donnell and Lilja in a third pair role. On top of this Grossman can move up in a pinch. |

Nah, he's not worth 2.5 or 3. He pretty much doubled his salary with this deal. - MJL
agree to disagree
could have gotten more if he wanted. |

He signed it because he's getting a raise, is unlikely to get an offer-sheet elsewhere and will be in position to make a huge raise if he blossoms offensively by the time he's up for renegotiation again in 2015. - bmeltzer
why wouldn't another team offer sheet him? he might not sign it but a lot of teams wold offer more then his deal IMHO. |

What would a 2 year B. Schenn deal look like given Couts deal? |

Great bridge deal, and good job by Homer getting it done this early.

while the Metro division does sound lame, what pisses me off more is that they kept the Atlantic but with all new teams. just call it something else. - Crimsoninja

I wouldnt move Grossmann. He was their best defenseman last year before injury occured. Hes a beast. |

How could he have gotten more? What leverage did he have? What was he going to do, hold out?
He almost doubled his Paragraph 1 Salary from 925K to 1.75M |
