Lavi changing the D is just another excuse as it didn't work for Bryz and had they not acquired Mason the majority would have continued to blame the coach and Coburn and Briere for their defensive issues. The goalie's job is to stop the puck but somehow we all started making everyone else responsible for it to excuse Bryz. It was clear to me that Bryz was horrible and that he had to be bought out. Once again, you're being very narrow minded. It's the TEAM"S job to prevent goals.

No one here is absolving Bryz of blame, we are saying that the poor play was a culmination of several things going wrong. That includes Bryz's inability to make big saves in timely situations.

Is it possible the Defense could have been bad on its own accord, and Bryz was bad on his own?

IMO Bryz's numbers were just about as good as any other average goalie, playing behind a poor defensive team. Was he horrible, NO. Was he doing the job he was being paid to do? NO. That is why they bought him out. If Bryz was signed to a 3 year 3 million dollar contract, his performance could have been overlooked, and he would likely still be on the team.

Ugh. My mom is a bio-chemist and she analyzes the effects of drugs on patients. I worked for her and reviewing the data is mind-numblingly boring. It pays very well though.
