I would do this except that my computer is upstairs and my TV is downstairs. Don't feel like moving the computer downstairs every night. Do they offer it via PS3?

Also, how does the blackout work?

Here's a question for all: Favorite Flyers by decade
67-79 - Bernie Parent
80-89 - Mark Howe
90-99 - Eric Lindros
00-09 - Simon Gagne (this was the toughest to pick for me, as no one guy really
stood out)
Current- Kimmo Timonen

The prestige of the NHL and Stanley Cup are still strong -- it's definitely not just about $ for most pros.

The NHL only really has to start worrying if the KHL keeps expanding westward, and a generation down the line, young hockey players in Czech and Switzerland etc. start dreaming of winning a Gagarin Cup, instead of a Stanley and start staying home.

- Tomahawk

NHL has to worry about a labor situation every 7 or 8 years. The more opportunities players have to "sample" the KHL, the more alluring some might find it--playing closer to home [Europeans/Russians], being "the guy" as opposed to a role player--things like that.

Not everything is great in the KHL. Long travel, no first class treatment, worse competition and there are rumors that players never know when they will receive their pay.

Absolutely agree. And I think the plane crash that took Brad McCrimmon far too early scared some players away as well.

But if the conditions get better over time (which may happen if the league grows) and the NHL keeps locking out its players...well...I wouldn't be surprised if more decide to go the way of Jagr, Radulov, Kovalchuk, and Esche [which one of these is not like the other].

Of course, these are all hypothetical arguments. But the more the NHL allows its players to "wet their whistle" in the KHL it stands to reason that some will decide "hey, this ain't so bad."

It depends on which club you're playing for... some of the high profile ones spare no expense when it comes to taking care of their players... and then there are clubs that need to scrimp at every turn out of necessity. It really runs the gamut.

The competition isn't bad at all... not the same brand of North American hockey we're used to, but the skill-level of the average player is still very high. And judging from how good Russians WJC teams are getting, the quality level of the KHL will only be getting better.

You know what's eerie, is that G's shift and Richie's shift are the two iconic moments of recent playoff past, and G was on the ice for both:

(look at that outlet pass that lead to the SHG)

G's shift > Richie's shift in my opinion.

(No this is not because I'm "anti-Richards". If anything, I'm anti-Carter....)

Very good point. If they are going to stay with the pros, then move it to the Summer games. I know it sounds weird, but they played the Canada Cup/World Cup games in the summer, and it seemed to work just fine. At least this way if a key player gets hurt, he should hopefully be able to return to his club at some point during the season, rather than getting injured in February and missing the stretch run and playoffs.
- BiggE

How often would the World Cup/Canada Cup take place? I'd like there to be a big international tournament with the best NHL pros involved every year. IIHF is nice, but I wish it was a bit later so it could have more than just the pros from non-playoff teams.

Not even that. The seating options available were awful. Three seats open together? Sorry, you cant get just two.

I ended up with 216A Row 11. Flyers shoot once end. Meh.

Stadium needs to be bigger.

I find it difficult to consider your opinion objective seeing how your username is "Giroux_Is_God."

All kidding aside, both are incredible shifts, and Giroux certainly set the tone for the entire game in that first shift.

But by Gahwd--Mike Richards did it with willpower alone--maybe a quarter of the flash and skill of Giroux.

I hope, somewhere down the line, Richards becomes yet another "Flyer 2.0" and returns to Philadelphia.

As for Carter...

Advantage to needing Handicap seating... I can buy the worst seats in the house, and as long as I get there early, I usually end up in section 114 I think it is... But they are great seats... Sometimes you can end up in 210 I think, and they arent that bad either...

After winning club box seats 4 years ago on the radio--I completely restructured the way I bought Flyers tickets. I used to buy a partial game plan.

But once I got my own private bathroom, wait-staff, and premium beverage selection--I said to myself--"self, maybe just do three or four games up in these seats."
