Its gonna be a real shame if the Islanders move. Pens-Isles games have been some of the best over the last bunch of years. Even when the isles were at their worst they always seemed to play well against the Pens. As a pens fan i wouldnt be too upset to see the islanders get one more cup to add to their collection from the 80's.

I kinda thought this was the case but wasn't sure if it was gonna end up like phoenix where they are constantly rumoured to move but never do. 25 year lease sounds good, but whats the franchise gonna be called? It just won't be the same if they're not on the island.

Brooklyn is actually on Long Island, it's just included in the five boroughs.

It's only a half hour away(no traffic which never happens in Brooklyn), no big deal. Geographically it's part of LI. They will still be the Islanders, name is not changing.

clearly not paying enough attention to the islanders. having never been there, i didnt realize that brooklyn was on the island too. Glad to hear that they won't be changing names.
