Bill Meltzer: Meltzer's Musings: McGinn Outlook - bmeltzer
I haven't read anything Tim has wrote in months but his latest blog I actually agree with. The Flyers cannot come out with a slow start. In my opinion Homer has had a fantastic offseason but this is only on paper, not on the ice.
As for Bill's blog. I like what Laughton, Raffl and McGinn all bring to the table. Should Gagne not sign here McGinn is my first choice at wing to take the final open spot. At this point I would be more excited to see a vet be signed here then playing another youth. We have youth. Being young isn't a problem in Philly anymore. |

Over/under

Voracek: 70 pts
Hartnell: 57pts
Schenn: 45 pts
Vinny: 50 pts
Simmer: 45 pts

Couts: 40 pts
Talbot 34 pts - PhillySportsGuy
There are players I look at as far as production goes points, goals or both
Giroux is a points guy in my book. As far as he reaches 90 or better, it was a good season. Simmonds I expect to take the next step and have 30 or more. Lecavalier I look at goals and points due to his history. Schenn I look at for goals and point because of his upside of being an offensive threat ready to break out. |

Lecavalier had 32 points in 39 games last year with a revolving door on his wing. If he has steady wingers, in a more offensively inclined system, I'd be surprised at only 38 points. |

Surprised? I'd be down right livid about it. 38 points for Lecavalier would be devastating. I think 60 is more like it.

no pens bias or anything, and not that i wish it on him, i just for some reason see him spending time on the DL this year. if he plays 80 games, then id project high 50s low 60s. |

yeah i would be inclined to agree. i dont know why. its not even that he strikes me as injury prone. i think him and hartnell have a difficult time staying healthy this year. i think voracek and simmonds continue to light it up though, as well as a solid contribution from read. |

I find the first season a big UFA spends in Philadelphia wides up making a positive impact the first year of their contract and start disappointing down the road. I expect Lecavalier to be solid this season. |

I never do them...if healthy I expect Crosby and Malkin to top 100, Neal should score 35-40, Bennett could have a good year if he's on the wing with either 71 or 87

Hammarby and his teammates beat the Canadians (coached by Jacques Demers) to win the gold medal in the Maccabiah games today. Congratulations to the best over-40 Jewish goalie in the U.S.! (EDIT: Heck, the world!!!) - bodiva88

You're so optimistic, you make SpongeBob SquarePants seem like Henry Rollins by comparison |
