Not just his lack of finish. He was a promising role player. He got that concussion that kept him out, and he was never the same after that. Still isn't. He regressed from that point on. - MJL
Proving his scapegoating naysaying critics right!

It definitely has its origins north of the border, and I'm not worried about it.. but I grow weary of rumors that somehow grow legs and run on for a while, like the imbecilic rumor back at the deadline that Adrian Dater was peddling about Luongo being headed to the Flyers which then proceeded to rear its ugly head again around the draft. - Doc_Sarcasm
I think they throw it out there like "Wayne Simmonds would be a perfect fit for this team (he pretty much works for every team)." Then, they assume the Flyers don't recognize his value.
The Flyers aren't looking to move him, so any offer would have to be more than fair to acquire him. |

Juicy, eh? How about a pallet of Jersey tomatoes?
- Flyskippy
I'd do it, but seeing as how you bums across the river don't get them as fresh as I do, I'm gonna have to pass.

I wonder if, in a year or two, we'll have the same type of posts condescendingly recalling how we overrated McGinn as a first line winger after this season. - BulliesPhan87

Given the choice, would you rather have Rosehill, Raffl, or McGinn on the 4th line?
Also, I think Akeson gets traded to a team looking for young cheap top-6 talent (Calgary) because I don't see him fitting in here any time soon. - jmatchett383
Right now Rosehill. McGinn and Raffi could both use more time in the AHL.
On your 2nd point, you are making the classic hometown fan mistake of over valuing your prospects. Akeson is undersized and slow, at this point he has virtually no trade value whatsover and IMHO is a career minor leaguer. |

I honestly don't recall anyone stating that Bartulis had top 4 potential. Unless it escapes my memory. But I do agree that prospects are overhyped. Recent examples are that we can get rid of Coburn, because Lauridsen is just as good. Or that Akeson is going to be a top 6 Forward based on the handful of games he played as a Flyer. - MJL
Akeson hell no
Id have no problem if lauridsen was the 6th this year if they had brought in an upgrade to the top 4. Id have no problems with trading coburn on this scenario. Streit is not the right piece for making coburn expendable |

Lauridsen still has some holes in his game, he turns the puck over a lot. I think it would be better for him to have one more year with the Phantoms getting 21-24 minutes a night and be that much more prepared to step in the following season. |

I would not rely on Lauridson for full time NHL duty this season. |

I wouldnt want Lauridson in the top 6 yet. He has made strides but asking him to play 82 games in the NHL is too much at this point. He had some nice stretches last year, but also looked shaky at other times.

He's got to have SOME value; he did lead the OHL in scoring 2 years ago. |

Agreed. He's definitely a call-up candidate, but no way would I pencil him in for a full-time top-6. |

Not sure how my post could be construed as condescending when I specifically lumped myself in with the crowd... note the use of "we". |

Oh, ok.
EDIT: Fortunately, I also used the word 'we'. So I stand by my accusation of condescending toward yourself. |

You don't really taste the tomatoes in ketchup or sauce. I actually eat tomato soup. I just hate the taste of one on a sandwich or in my salad. |
