This blog took a strange turn somewhere
- PhillySportsGuy

Okay. We trade Rosehill and 2 bushels tomatoes for MacKinnon, J. McGinn, and a 4th.
Colorado trades 1 bushel to Calgary for Camalleri.
Calgary makes some tomato sauce and trades it back for Akeson.
T. McGinn wins scoring title.

I hate tomatoes. Always a good way to ruin a sandwich.
- PhillySportsGuy

Without tomatoe a sandwhich is just a dry roll/bread with dry meat and cheese stuffed in the middle. I'll say letus is just filler in a sandwhich, but tomatoe elevates any sandwhich.

Seeing as I brought up the topic of Jersey tomatoes, I think we all know whom to blame.

Tangent Man.

- Flyskippy

You leave Tangent Man out of this. It's clearly the work of Chris Therien in cahoots with Randy Jones, Matt Carle, and Jeff Carter.

Mackinnon and J. McGinn sound great, but the Tomato Sauce included just pushes the trade so far in our advantage.

Who was the scapegoat of the 80's?

By the way, I think we need a new award for the annual scapegoat.

While I back your take on sandwiches 100%, you Dan Quayle'd that tomato:

80's was maybe Eklund?

I'm nominating Streit for this season.

J-Shell was a good locker room guy. He was a popcorn-fetching All-Star. Sure he was a bit overpaid, but if you want to make sure your popcorn arrives hot, you gotta pay for it.

Very good choice. I'm going with Coburn, seeing as how he's already on thin ice with the current fan base.

1) I believe Bill will cover this in his upcoming "Internet Wayback" article, but probably Doug Crossman.

2) IIRC, Randy Jones was the first scapegoat here in Hockeybuzz's Flyers boards. So, we can call it the Randy Award.

Akeson hell no

Id have no problem if lauridsen was the 6th this year if they had brought in an upgrade to the top 4. Id have no problems with trading coburn on this scenario. Streit is not the right piece for making coburn expendable

- Just5

I think Lauridsen needs some more AHL time, before being ready for a full time NHL role.

Where on the depth chart do you see Lauridsen (assuming everyone but Pronger's healthy)? I have him listed 9th.

1. Timonen
2. Schenn
3. Coburn
4. Grossman
5. Meszaros
6. Streit
7. Gustafsson
8. MAB
9. Lauridsen

Given our injury history, he may crack the opening night top-4.

I might put him ahead of MAB for now, just based on health.
