saw that, staying out of the mix. A big fan of both, had those two on my fantasy team last year, but a bit biased given my rooting interest. |

"Being the best player on the New York Islanders is like being the best musician in One Direction"
LOL - rangerdanger94
You used a poorly written ESPN Hockey Article to defend a stupid argument. JT is better. Take the Ranger glasses off. Only thing that makes Nash "seem" better is his position. As when comparing wingers Nash is better than his peers while the center position is where all the great talent lies so JT doesn't stand out as much. But overall JT >> Nash. Guy is sick. |

I was clearly trolling them the whole time. Thought that was obvious when I made the nash was a captain "argument".
Jt is better but let's not say he's a tier above nash. Nash is twice his size and can outskate him to shiz and is a better stick handler. |

JT is a totally different player then Nash. If you asked me who the better player is at this very second I would say JT but it's not as clear cut as many Islander fans think. Tavares has unbelievable vision and playmaking skills. On the other hand there are nights where Nash is just ridiculous with the puck. Few players posses the skill of beating a player one V one. Nash has the ability to beat multiple players and his shot IMO is better then JT's. Nash can drive to the net and is very hard to take off the puck. What makes JT better then Nash is the fact that he makes others around him so much better. His vision on the ice and playmaking skills are right there with Crosby's and I think JT plays with much less talent. Don't get me wrong Moulson isn't some scrub but I don't think he is a top 6 forward without JT. I heard a stat awhile ago where JT has assisted on 56 of the last 60 goals Moulson has scored. JT is also a lot younger and is only to get much better. The guy is flat out an amazing talent but I am a bit skeptical only because it was a shortened season. I want to see a full 82 game season from Tavares and if I was a betting man I would say the guy is going to put up close to 100 points. |

sorry to break the news to ranger and islander fans, but jagr is the best forward in the area, and yes he has won a few NHL awards. |

John Tavares and Rick Nash are both signed for the next 5 years. Gonna fun to watch them going head to head in NYC that whole time.
I think extremely highly of John Tavares, summer of 2018 when Rick Nash contract expires, I expect us to make a hard run at the then 28 year old Tavares when he becomes a UFA. |

You guys think Zucc and the Rangers end up in arbitration, or will an 11th hour deal get struck? I am betting on a deal before arbitration, but not overly confident about that one. |

ultimately, I just don't believe the Rangers will let a 3rd party determine how much they are going to pay a player and they will get it done before the hearing. |

Which would leave a remaining $2.7 million for Stepan, without any additional roster moves. Shouldn't be too hard to find an additional $1.8 million (assuming Stepan gets around $4.5 million) by sending certain players to the minors (Ash and/or Powe) or moving a contract via trade. |

it's hard to imagine they'll leave themselves with absolutely no cap space though, call ups, that kind of thing.
I think I like Zuccarello as much as anyone does, but it just doesn't make sense that they are in this position with him, especially considering they signed Pouliot, Moore and have these younger players like Kreider, Miller, Fast and Lindberg and have such a cap crunch. |

The issue is how are we going to stay under the cap in the beginning of the year with cally and hags out but not on ltir so we need 2 additional contracts up in the big club. |

I agree with that, and for that reason, its hard for me to imagine how, if they really want Zucarello, that they are going to keep several guys on the fourth line making in the mid-1 million range. |
