ultimately, no matter what, there will always be a "World's Most famous Arena" somewhere in Manhattan.
I am not really sure what Ranger haters are so happy about in this case, worst comes to worst, there will be a beautiful new MSG somewhere in the city 10 years down the line. - jimbro83
...and let's not forget the key word here--lease. Leases do tend to get renewed. It's not like this is a Devils or C'yotes situation.
Nope you're wrong Rangers will have to move to Quebec, Kansas City, Las Vegas or Nassau. - tomburton99
Rangers will have to move to the existing Nassau Coliseum. Knowing Nassau County politics there is a good chance that the current Coliseum will still be standing while politicians still fight over who should win the bid or if a new Target would be better suited.

I'm sure the holes in the ceiling and problems with the foundation will be only little hiccups.
Jan probably likes this. He's a big Knick fan, but other than him I don't think anyone here has a rooting interest in place for the Knicks. Just the fact that combined the two franchises are worth close to 2 billion dollars and bring in big revenue $$$ for the city, I think NYC will find a home for them and not in Nassau county.

and the two teams are completely tied together and always will be - jimbro83
A lot of it has to do with the NBA being more popular than the NHL, but I hear a lot more national coverage about the Knicks than I do about the Rangers.

yeah, the Knicks are one of the iconic franchises in American sports.
But, the point is, the Knicks aren't leaving Manhattan. And, that means, the Rangers aren't leaving Manhattan.
