Move the bums to Quebec City
- spdevotee

Because you lost Kovalchuck, Parise and Clarkson you are now calling your team bums? Dude just wait for the rebuild

Wow, I'm shocked

The earliest rumors of NYR saving grace being Nassau would be bad,
There is no train station, and if the Rangers started doing poopty I wouldn't doubt if attendance dropped.

I still think the rangers will be in MSG in 11 years,

But is it cool if isles fans start up the "Kansas City" chants now?

- Danformo

You need to get informo, if they move it will be to the Javitz center location

Rangers will have to move to the existing Nassau Coliseum. Knowing Nassau County politics there is a good chance that the current Coliseum will still be standing while politicians still fight over who should win the bid or if a new Target would be better suited.

The Rangers and their fans will never be forced into poverty.

The Rangers are not leaving Manhattan. No way. If they're not playing on 7th and 33rd/34th Streets in 10 years they'll be playing in a brand-spanking new state of the art arena a short distance away. Wouldn't be the first time MSG was moved. Somehow, I think the Rangers and Knicks will survive if they move MSG to another location in Manhattan.

New MSG could also be moved to the west side railyards, where the Jets stadium was supposed to be built. They could build a ridiculous arena there, and the City would need them to, so they'd offer what financial incentives they needed to make it happen. MSG brings in tons of tax dollars and revenue to the City.

I agree, slow news round these parts. I think this gets pushed WAY beyond 10 years when push comes to shove.

Or like you said, another shiny billion dollar MSG is built somewhere else in Manhattan. This is already MSG 4, most people don't know that.

Most people also don't know that back in the old NHL we had to play almost every Stanley Cup final on the road because of the dam circus being at the Garden

It will be interesting to see. To me, though, I just can't see the Rangers (and Knicks) not being in Manhattan and on 34th St.

I just don't see it happening.

- mames11

It won't they'll be giving up 100's of millions in corporate sponsorship and tickets alone. They will rework that deal for more cash hence the 10 year lease. It's all about making more money down the road, never going to happen

Maybe the Rangers, Islanders, Knicks, and Nets can all play at the Barclays Center. While we are at it, move the Devils there too.

Like PJC already stated earlier on, money talks. They will find a way to remain right where they are. They just invested one billion dollars on renovating MSG; I highly doubt Dolan and all of his billions will allow that to go to waste.

Seeing old highlights of Shea when the Jets played there, place was such a poop box for baseball let alone football. Horribly designed. I think I remember a season maybe of them there, was too young, 1983 was the last yr. i was 7.

I went that year, my one and only time to a Jet game at Shea, I was 12. I believe it was second game of the season vs the Seahawks. Steve Largent. Jets lost. I think they were predicted to be really good that year and were big disappointment.

Christine Quinn just wants to make the "new Penn Station" a major platform of her mayoral campaign. That's why she spurned the 15 year agreement for a 10 year measure. She'll spend the rest of the campaign season touting her big plan.

Just like every other promise a political candidate has ever made, if she wins, it will be forgotten about in 3 years, and in 2023, MSG will get another 10-15 year permit to continue operate on the current site. If she loses, it will be forgotten about even sooner.

This move will never happen and Christine Quinn will be out of politics in 10 years

Devils fans are really clueless, they think the City wants to get rid of the Rangers, fully ignoring the fact hey are in more debt than they are worth not to mention falling on loans from the NHL, god I can't wait for them to disappear again

Most Devils fans on here have said they can't imagine the Rangers not in Manhattan, but thanks for reminding us how poor and stupid we are.
