No, the team was very distressed that Matt Cooke may have been leaving. It was bringing down their spirits. - jmatchett383

17 posts and not one comment/play on words about "Arousal Regulation". Pretty tame crowd this Penguins bunch is. - buffalofan19
Ha! I can't lie, that exact thought crossed my mind when writing it. |

Yep... I'll be surprised if we even make the playoffs this year w/o Cookie. |

Ryan, this is an exceptional read even by your standards. Great work.
The attitude towards the field of psychology in 2013 America is shockingly out of touch. As you mentioned, seeing a psychologist and being mentally ill are entirely different things. In addition to this there are varying degrees of mental health just as there are varying degrees of physical health.
Fleury already had a great deal of stress and pressure placed upon him due to his recent post-season struggles, but he was also experiencing the extremely emotionally complex and taxing birth of his daughter. I don't care who you are there is just no way that you could have something that big happen and stay 100% focused on your career.
I'm not prepared to say that Fleury is done especially now that we know that Shero and HCDB seem to believe in his ability to bounce back. I think that a sports psychologist might be just what the doctor ordered. Pun intended. |

I just do NOT see it happening. Also we'll be without Sid and Geno because Cooke is going to intentionally concuss both of them when we play the Wild, thus ending the careers of both of our star centers. |

Yup, because Cooke is just that dirty of a player. Remember he did intentionally take off his skate and slice Karlssons achilles. I forgot he's also a 100 point per season player and scores 40 goals... |

I knew it was a mistake to let him go. I can't believe the Wild are only paying him $2.5M |

One would think that this is Fleury's last chance, right?
If things don't go well in the playoffs, there is now way they waste $5 mil with Letang's and Malkin's new contracts kicking in. |

This year the AHL goalies will be watched veeeerrry closely. Fact remains we'd have to overpay for any other goalies, whether it's by trade or free agency. |

The goalie market is flooded with potential bargains. I would have to think if Fleury isnt playing in the playoffs again this year then he will be moved one way or another. |
