I've been carrying a debate with someone for oh say 6 months that "because they are beat writers they know more than us." I'm gonna go on a limb here and say you would be with me in refuting that statement, yes? - JoeRussomanno
Marcus Hayes isn't a beat writer, is he? He's a columnist? |

The Swedes we haven't drafted are better than all of the Canadians we have drafted. Soon, the Swedes we draft will be worse than the Canadians we didn't.

Instead of drafting JVR at #2 we should've taken Simmonds who went # 61. |

If anyone is interested, the stick Wayne Gretzky scored his 1000th all time goal with is up for auction.
One little detail. It wasn't exactly his 1000th NHL goal - Wayne was 13 at the time when he used it to score the goal at Brantford.
In case you're still interested, as of yesterday the leading bid was for $8000. |

He's an idiot and a clown- that's what he is.
If he's not a beat writer, he'd fit right in. |

Bill Meltzer: Flyers Add a New European Scout - bmeltzer
It wasn't just Swedish talent that the Flyers were impatient with at times. Hopefully, the new hire will enhance the Flyers European footprint and willingness to delve into the Swedish leagues to a larger extent than the occasional toe dipping |

Marcus Hayes comments yesterday on Bernie Parent being the most loved Philly player "most people wouldnt know Bernie Parent from Bernie Madoff and hockey being a fringe sport" He suggests that Dr J should be the most loved, well I guess he wasnt at the playoff game when 4,000 people cheered the Sixers? talk about being fringe, Marcus. - vejim
Why would anyone give a diseased rat's left testicle what Marcus Hayes thinks about anything?

Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin has torn the ACL in his right knee. - Jsaquella
ugh..first shift of first game of the season 2 years ago i ruptured my ACL and tore my MCL... still doesnt feel 100% right now but obviously a professional athlete is about 1 billion times different then some dude in an over 30 hockey league.
Sucks for him |

The Chip Kelly era off to a wing dinger start. A torn acl during the first week of camp. These Eagles are going places. |
|
|
|
Tough break for Maclin in a contract year.
Should be interesting to see who RAJ deals for the Phils since I think he finally realizes it's time to sell some pieces. M. Young is definitely going to be traded. Who else goes? |

He is in his last year and was unlikely to be resigned. If you think the eagles are going anywhere this year you need your head checked. The defense is bad enough to get them to 5-11 in a great qb draft year |

Lee is the only piece that should bring back a substantial piece as long as the Phil's eat some of the money |

They won't have to eat any of the money, make it known you want him you take all the salary and over a good enough package if not don't call back.
He also isn't going anywhere Amaro it isn't in his nature to "rebuild" he'll go down swinging |
