Exactly. He's a decent defender who had one great year. The price for that isn't absurd. With the bidding war it's probably steep, but not absurd.

palat = leading scorer in AHL play-offs and is massive...a top 6 winger easily plus a 3rd/4th round for a top 4 defenseman who has had 1 great season

if you don't give up connolly, you don't get franson. Simple. You will be dumping a player to us which would be most likely malone. So connolly compensates for that

Well thats the reason why, plus we really don't have the cap to spend on both kadri and franson because our GM used up too much already with other players but thats reality. Connolly would be something we would take, you can't hold all your prospects back, one will have to go and i doubt you would want us taking any of your defensive prospects

my guess on this anyways is the only reason this whole thing stirred up is because of past interest of when franson had been available steve y wanted him on different occasions, but that doesnt mean he does now, its been 3 years

we have a new system and a new future, things are different now

my guess is that there hasnt even been talks between the 2, but im always wrong

Well its not like you guys use him at all We for sure would want something tangible not some prospect that may or may not pan out, like average prospects which we have alot of already. Franson did have a good half season and did shine in playoffs. Heck i don't even want him to leave, id rather us trade liles away or gunner just to pay him, but if we trade him, something "key" will have to come back our way for sure.

i think a huge winger that is potentially ready for top 6 duty in the NHL who lead the AHL play-offs in scoring by a long shot in the least amount of games is a "key" component on any team looking for top 6 prospects who are young and NHL ready

connolly has had injury problems and is developing. he has been brought up to the NHL and has showed his goal scoring personality by shooting every time he gets the chance..he is ours and will never go!!!!

i know palat is a 7th round pick...but he has panned out to be a late 1st/ early 2nd pick

anyways, i wouldnt like giving him up either...i wouldnt like giving up any of our boys im just stating what i think would be a fair trade
