Depends how well reinforced the wall of the pentagon is. I dont know the specs on this plane so I dont have the tools to do a proper stress diagnosis on it but in my mind I could see the wings buckling in against the body of the plane. If the diameter of the body is 16ft across, or a bit less to add for the added width of the wings, that hole size would make more sense.
You would need some engineers familiar with the design and material of the plane along with the strength of the wall to make a more accurate assessment.

That also doesnt explain why the plane vaporized. Jet fuel burns pretty damn hot but I dont know how much wreckage was left.

Combine that with highly flammable fuel and traveling at 500 miles an hour and you have something that can vaporize. Did anyone stop to consider al quades role in this? Amen. I don't ever seem to remember Bin Laden or Al-Qaeda ever denying responsibility. People who believe this was a conspiracy seriously need to grow up. You can find reasonable doubt in a lot of situations. That's why murderers get to walk sometimes.

Again, conspiracy nut jobs take the simpleton approach to everything. Pretty sure that steel I beams do not need to be exposed to melting point temps in order to weaken them. Rather constant high temps over an extended time period to weaken them enough to bend under a tremendous amount of strain and literally hundreds of tons of pressure.

Don't think they need to liquefy in order for them to fail.
