JVR is better now. We're talking about next year. JVR is a big body that was inconsistent in the season, but a beast in the playoffs (and in past playoffs for philly). 2nd overall pick, not exactly ancient either. I loved gallagher i have to admit, up until the point he suckered a guy instead of doing the honorable thing and fighting like a man.
My original argument was 'our forwards crush yours'. Okay it was a bit aggressive but i also gave you props for price and i think both D suck to be honest. But when i did compare the top 9 vs your top 9, i do think the only one better is pleks. I think it's justified to say 'crush' in that sense. It's not my fault that when comparing, we have JVR in a position where you guys have gallagher. Just like it may be unfair that we are comparing 2 unproven goalies vs one of the best in price, but it is what it is. - clark_griswold
At the end of the of the day thats all fine and dandy, but apart from shot blokcs and fights and baring a price meltdown in the lsst 2 weeks the habs had better stats in most of the important categories than the leafs did. That said only time will tell, personally I think the habs will finishstrong and we will see the leafs regress. |

Cause by keeping them at 30-1 vegas is still guaranteed that a few suckers will throw their money on it thinking the Oilers could be a sleeper to win the Cup. Unfortunately the only sleeper bet for the Oilers is that they could make the playoffs. |

There was an article on here at one point about the luckiest teams last year and how they'll likely regress this coming year.
Worth a look to avoid betting on those teams. |

I have no problem with that What's funny about this list is that vancouver is so high. I don't think people realize how difficult a division the pacific is. The Californian teams know how to play hockey now.The canucks aren't going to be able to feed on the wild, avs, flames and oilers every night. |

I would take the oilers at 30-1 before I took Vancouver at 12-1. Oilers are trending upwards. Canucks are dropping faster then your sisters pantys at a cock party. |

the habs are simply not built for the playoffs. Why? way too soft. They also finished ahead of boston last year, does that mean they are better? LA doesn't have great regular seasons, but are playoff monsters.
I'm not saying the leafs are great; i do think they are a much better playoff team than season team. Some other non biased fans have said as much in this thread. I called boston to win in 7 last year, only because i thought the leafs would put up a fight due to toughness and depth. We don't have a top notch centre, but we have 3 deep lines that are tough and young. i don't see how you can say the habs are going to finish strong when it is the same team as last year whereas the leafs improved.
Point is neither is winning the cup, but i will stand by the leafs making it farther in the playoffs than the habs any day. |

no exaggeration there....i also find it amusing that you are a canucks fan and seemingly obsessed with the leafs, a team in the other conference based on your avatar. But hey, whatever blows your hair back bud. |

teams that cannot roll 4 lines in the playoffs are not built for the playoffs. you guys put way, way too much stock into how tough your team is because you have 2 mongoloids on the 4th line who can't even skate a regular shift because they're not good at hockey. |

How have the habs not improved? Also I find your idea thst the habs were man handled by the sens laughable. Did you not watch anderson stop 40++ shots agame for every game that series? We too had around 5 guys playing hurt and 2 important guys out. Call it soft or call it unlucky, but the habs system suits the way the team is built very nicely. The team does need a few tweaks, but stats don't lie, habs were a top 5 team and led the leafs in power ranking all season and even come playoffs. Also I will agree the habs are not built like the leafs but to say braun will beat finness come playoff time is silly. Again time will tell. |

Yup, mongoloids are Ok if they can skate and have a 4C that can win draws and kill penalties. |

actually, orr was pretty effective at throwing his weight around against chara. I'm not being sarcastic here - parros was a great signing for you guys. Your smaller players will play alot bigger now. |
