The approaching public and private pensions are going to be mind blowing, infastructure at all levels has been ignored for decades, and gov't payrolls are getting bigger and bigger. The tax base isn't growing as much as expenditures and "dead money" spending continues to rise. Detroit just started earlier and crashed faster.

i think anaheim and montreal are way too high on the list. And i'm not just hating on montreal

Yeah the Habs played WAY over there heads last year. I don't think they are as good as they showed. They'll come back to reality & miss the playoffs next season. No hate intended, objectively speaking, I just don't think they are that good. Briere will add nothing to that team.

The city's long term debt has actually increased since Ford took over. The transit situation is still (frank)ed. I don't like any of the leadership we've had for a long time, including Miller and Ford. I'm not a blue, red or orange guy, I'm independent and it's a sad, sad state of affairs.

Very true about infrastructure, this is a problem all over North America in my opinion. Toronto's not a single industry town like Detroit so it's different, but certainly real problems exist.

agreed. Cop handled it horribly. At the same time, I find it amusing that he's a good kid. No good kid pulls a knife and does what he did. Don't let that distract you from my point of the cop went way overboard and should be fired and face some charges.

Well, that's my point. Obama said 'hope, change, yes we can' over and over again, and at least his sentences fell together unlike W, and people believed it. Ford said 'gravy train, gravy train' a million times and people believed it. To me they are equally disappointing.
