Thats an awful bold statement to make considering we had more GF than the Leafs (yes our d had a lot to do with that) and less GA than the Leafs (yes our goalie can be partially credited with that).

But i dont see how your forwards can crush ours and your d is just as good yet we beat you in both those categories??

Can't just look at stats. I just don't see many forwards that would crack the leafs forward ranks. I've always liked plekanec, and i think he would make us better at centre. However, it pretty much stops there. I personally don't think either defense core is very good at all, so i can't say which one is better.

and please, tell us about Toronto's 2013 playoff achievements.
- DoubleDown

Weren't they up by like 3 goals or something late in the 3rd period of game 7 vs Boston? I'm assuming they won...

it's funny to get chirped by 2 teams that had sh*ttier playoffs than us and haven't won squat either. I can accept the chirps from red wings fans, but seriously..

The Wild are actually in the NHL? I thought that was some AHL squad of Taranna or something.

At these odds I'd put my money on ottawa cause spezza is back zibenajad is onpy getting better and bobby ryan. And karlsson will be fully rested up.

at 30/1 i'll take a shot on the islanders, at 40/1 I have to throw a few bucks on my devils, they always seem to show up when the so called experts bury them. biggest sucker play has to be the pens at 5/1. teams that don't bother playing defense, don't win the cup.

I think they lost 4-1 in the Series. I switched off after game 4.

yeah i can lecture the habs on the playoffs. Oh i forgot, they won in 93 so i guess i should shut up.

we're talking about next year, and the habs got smoked by ottawa without spezza, and with anderson and karlsson on the limp.

- clark_griswold

What a stupid comparison. You start with the playoffs them conveniently switch to cups for the habs. Year after year they slot us 9-13 in the standings and still make the playoffs, sometimes even winning the division or conference.
We knocked off 2 giants in Pitt and Washington back to back in the same year.
Knocked off Boston a couple of times. Sucked really bad one year but was able to draft a player that many analysts say could be the true first pick had he not sat out a year, regardless the kid is going to be great. No cup but since 93, your right.

well we are talking about how they're going to do NEXT year. .....my playoff comment had to do with someone else mentioning past playoff performance.

Really? Only certain NHL team fans can talk trash? Thanks for the tip. BTW, were you even alive the last time Toronto won a cup??? Just curious. I know I wasn't and I'm 42 years old. Wild have been in the league all of 14 years So please, tell me more about winning squat...

Hands down the biggest sucker bet is Pittsburgh. 5/1 odds are awful. There are at least 8 teams who should have better odds (maybe more).

Vegas just knows that suckers love the sound of Crosby and Malkin. By putting Pittsburgh at the top lots of people will take the bet thinking they're the favourites. With all the players they lost they are a worse team next year than they were when they went "all in" this past season. And they were very unimpressive in the playoffs for the 4th straight year.

The Blackhawks have to be the favourites again, so that's a pretty solid bet. The Capitals at 30/1 is a pretty good bet given the odds.

Realistically I could see any of the following having a very good shot next year: CHI, BOS, STL, LA, VAN, DET, NYR, SJ

No i wasn't alive. So you've been a fan of the North Stars and Wild, how is it possible you are chirping? "the leafs haven't won squat"...am i supposed to respond "neither have the stars/wild"?

My point is you have nothing to chirp about. So i don't have to tell you about winning squat, you're 10 years older than me so you should know well how it feels.

I guess it's part of being the "center of the hockey universe".
Boy will the haters love that last sentence!
