Funny, but in all seriousness, they should be ahead of the canucks. - clark_griswold
You are a prime example of a delusional Leafs fan. Your team won't even be in the playoffs. Forget about the cup. I wouldn't bet on the Leafs at 100-1. |

I like the Kings at 12-1. Tempting as it may be, the Leafs are way over-valued at 25-1 |

i don't think the leafs have a great shot, just a better one than van. Look at our points last year compared to yours; i believe you had 2 more? Your 'stars' are older and softer than kleenex. All of our good players are in their prime or getting there. You have lost players, we have added. Yes, we choked, something you canucks fans know well.
See how i gave reasons to back up my post, instead of 'delusional, blah blah, leasf suck, blah blah'...but i digress |

its actually 650 million, half of which will be from public funds, but it will generate money into the bankrupt city, its strange to spend money to make money right? |

Wings / Flyers, I'm a fan of both (more so on the Flyers side - It was easier in the past, having one in east and one in the west)... Rather the wings than other teams. The bankruptcy comment was aimed at Jurco... "philly, biggest suckers, their fans too." This just not called for...

wow, where are all my pens fans? i guess we are too busy not worring about how next year is going to go so we are checking hockey buzz everyday, i happen to be at work with nothing to do.
look here, we know dang well that we will be one of the best teams in the league as we are every year. the reason we got imbarassed by boston is because we picked up all those players. look at the stats, we won 16 i think in a row with out iginla, morrow and them. we picked them up and were barely over .500. if it aint broke dont fix it, but how do u say no to someone like iginla.
so point is, we are in the position to win a cup every year, that doesnt mean we are going to win every year. thats what being a fan is all about. it would get boring if you won every year.
i thank you |

i agree, sometimes jerco says some stuff out of line too, just a little tired of the bankruptcy arguement everytime i say anything, granted its almost ALWAYS scooby the troll |

I can honestly say I have never placed an actual vegas bet on sports. I have plenty of friends who do and they tell me hockey is a sucker bet.
It's the best bet of the four major sports. Sportsbooks have the lowest readily-available information to set lines, sportsbooks have more volatility reacting to lines based on the lesser # of (a) bet quantity; and (b) size of bets, sportsbooks generally exhaust more energy getting razor-sharp lines for hoops/football because of how much sharp/square action is laid there.
If you're looking to beat the sportsbook, you have to be one of two things: (1) an absolute savant in the field of the sport you're betting; or (2) betting some combination of NHL/WNBA, where picking value spots is far less difficult and far more profitable.
Alternatively: there's a reason why sportsbooks will take twenty-five dime action on NFL, ten-dime action on NBA/NCAAFB, but only five-dime max on NHL/WNBA.
They are risk averse and are more concerned about bleeding out in sports where they don't have a specific, quantifiable advantage, at least relative to the big two/three. |

I guess we will agree to disagree! Lol.
So, this is a betting thread. Would you be willing to bet a months pay that the leafs will finish 1st among Canadian teams? |
