Highest SH% in the league, 3rd most SA/G, 28th most SF/G, 2nd worst possession team in the league. Bought out and let walk 2 of their top possession players in Grabo and Macarthur. Re signed one of their worst in Bozak. Paying a guy who's hit over 35P once, 5.25M a year.

I hate the leafs as much as I hate the oilers. Both piss poor teams last year. One benefitted from a sh*t load of puck luck and the shortened season.

I think you are overvaluing possession here. MacArthur can't finish and Grabo simy had a bad year (compounded by bad luck). Bozak never touches the puck because he is the worst player on his line, simple as that.

Also it seems you didn't watch alot of leafs games because the shots they gave up were mostly perimeter shots. Ron Wilson's leafs were not better defensively then Carlyle's because they gave up less shots. It's about the quality of said shots as well.

They aren't similar value. Rielly is a notch above. Think of Rielly as Pietrangelo and Nurse as Bogosian.

Rielly was also the third D-man taken, why do you keep repeating that?

Safer to make it in the NHL not be a star defensemen. The fact is that stay at home defensemen have to be so outrageously good to make up for their offensive deficiencies that they often don't live up to expectations.
