I wouldn't argue that a top offensive Dman helps win more games than a top defensive Dman
- TheNugeIsHuge

If Rielly had a poor defensive game I could agree with you but, an all around D-man witha superb offensive game is more valuable than any defensive D-man.

wait til he plays against men before he has a "superb offensive game" and I wasn't a fan of his D play in Ufa. 6 game showing though

EDIT: 4P in 22 AHL GP suggests is isn't "superb" yet. Knowing his SH% and PP time'd be helpful though

put that running your mouth with nothing to back it up to work. You'll be back where you started. Looking like a fool

He was playing very limited minutes in the AHL. He looked fine in Ufa to me, he was on of the team's best defenders.

I'll take the word of Corey Pronman from 'hockey prospectus' over Lipchitz from 'I love leaf prospects a weird amount'

Put those Google skills to work I;m sure you can churn up some quotes and pre-season rankings.

I feel like the person making the more contentious claim should have to back it up.

I shouldn't just claim you're a rapist and expect you to prove you're not.

I dunno that Klefbom has that bad an offensive game. Without being an expert, I wasn't aware that Rielly had that much better a defensive game than Klefbom has an offensive game.

If both reach their ceilings, you're talking about, say, Kris Letang and Dan Girardi. I'd have to ask Yost who actually wins more games.

No one is asking you to take my word, they are asking you to form your own opinion. You can link all the poop survey and opinion pieces you want, it's not proof of anything., if these guys could even remotely project prospects they would have 30 NHL teams bombarding them with job offers. The fact that you wave these articles about as some sort of validation of your opinion is hilarious. It's kind of pathetic that you can't converse without "proof" in link form and spend the majority of your day trolling the corners of the internet to "prove" your points. I'm glad that you found an analyst that agrees with you, when he doesn't you'll move on to the next.

The burden of proof in a glorified lottery doesn't fall to anyone. There is no proof. Making criminal allegations is an entirely different story.

Fair enough. I guess in general you're pretty arrogant because on one hand you're like 'everyone's entitled to their own opinion' and on the other, you laugh derisively at anyone who doesn't agree with you.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. I prefer a little more civility and bringing a few more opinions into the mix, but whatever.

It was civil until 3-5 of you EDM fans began to openly mock me. One with 3 whole lines of laughs! 3 WHOLE LINES! At that point I saw no reason to back off, I had reached my emoticon laughter threshold, it was on.

Must have missed that. Again, I have a very easy time telling people apart so I don't quite understand how we all end up getting lumped together here.

Sorry people weren't civil to you though. You did kinda come in guns blazing though and maybe, like me, you're easy to rise

I wasn't angry at any point, been laughing for awhile now. I was trolling, there are a few easy EDM soft spots that are simply shooting fish in a barrel. You make a couple posts on here and someone attacks you so it's easier just to take a step back and rile them up on purpose. When people are civil to me I;m always civil back.

Actually I really only follow Corey Pronman. Very highly touted in his field. You think I follow 200 people over the internet because I showed several places ranking Rielly from 5-8 which was a point I was making.

It's pathetic that you try to educate other fans on the value of your prospect and their prospects based on 6 WJC games you saw. I use what I can to back up my thoughts. You use blatant bias. Where did you find out Rielly was a superb offensive Dman?

I'm thinking you are the one trolling the internet, to tell of how Rielly will become Alex Pietrangelo. The way you overvalue a prospect this much because he dawned a leafs jersey on draft day is laughable. Take off the homer glasses.

I'm not really taking you too seriously. "shooting fish in a barrel" implies you're successful.

Oddly enough, when your team has the longest playoff drought, hasn't won a cup in 23 years, finished last for three years, had to overpay to get a 3rd line centre to come to their city, and will be in tough to make the playoffs again this year, not too much actually riles me up about the oilers.

Where does Bob rank him?

You think I follow 200 people over the internet because I showed several places ranking Rielly from 5-8 which was a point I was making.

I assumed you followed prospects which generally means multiple publications. I guess I was over estimating you.

It's pathetic that you try to educate other fans on the value of your prospect and their prospects based on 6 WJC games you saw.

I wasn't trying to educate anyone, the same way I wasn't trying to be educated.

I use what I can to back up my thoughts. You use blatant bias. Where did you find out Rielly was a superb offensive Dman?

We're both using bias. That's the name of the game on internet forums, bias and linkz.

I'm thinking you are the one trolling the internet, but to tell of how Rielly will become Alex Pietrangelo.

I said I'm trolling three times now. There's no way to know what Rielly will be, the comparison and the Schenn ones is because you it gets you emotional, and it's funny.

The way you overvalue a prospect this much because he dawned a leafs jersey on draft day is laughable. Take off the homer glasses.

I don't over value anything. You take your opinion and that of entertainment writers way too seriously though.

Maybe about Rielly's value, maybe even about Rielly's comparative value to the other prospects.

I haven't ever heard anything about Rielly being a top 3 prospect in that draft before tonight.

He was prob the 2nd or 3rd best defencemen on a group that was very ordinary and that finished 4th.
The only defender that stood out for canada was harrington.

Klefbom was the best defender on the gold medal winners and was named to the first team all stars in the previous years tourney.

Just sayin...

Pretty successful, annoyed a few people, entertained myself for a few hours. Had a few insightful comments.
