They can't..

Unless, It's Phaneuf, Bozak, Rielly and Biggs..

- PatC80

They can always trade Phaneuf, buyout Liles or something.

You can't say no to Shea Weber against Rieilly and spare parts.

Does Tyler Biggs actually have any trade value?

In a Yost .vs. Cloutier trade war, everybody losses.
- Cape Breton Bruins

Usually Yost has the better deals in place and justifies things with logic. Clouts on the other hand.....

He was a first round pick who had very good production last year in the OHL. Stupid question.

How can the Leafs afford to take on Weber's salary?

Pass.

- PatC80

he would replace Dion which is close to what dion will ask for in his next contract.

And that Leafs deal I would say yes after about 1 secon of thinking about it. Move Phaneuf or whoever you have to to clear out cap room I don't care that's worth it to get perhaps the best D man in the league.

You only have 4 teams left and both trades were awful. It can't be that hard lmao. These blogs have been entertaining as hell and I absolutely love em, but you both are awful at trade proposals.
- Meeqsb

than poni up the two last trades..... let see what you got.

Our 4th rounder from that year out produced him both in the regular season and big time in the playoffs.

40th in goals, 94th in assists.

He has value, but "very good" seems to me a stretch.

wow, Yes to the Weber deal. I dont care if we have to move some salary around.
You can trade Phanuef for a good return.
Trade Liles for bread crumbs or by him out.

Golden

No to the Bruins/Jackets deal. Bruins are in win now mode. And if yost denied johanson for marchand, probably going to say no for krecji.

Every cup winner seems to have a great 1-2 punch. <- So Toews and Handzus is a great 1-2 punch? Hawks have won twice in 4 years without a true #2 center. IMO, quality depth and defense wins championships, not just a solid 1-2 punch at Center. case in Point, Vancouver has Sedin and Kesler as their top 2 centers, how many cups have they won?

Leddy for Helm was a fail to this Hawks fan. Oduya perhaps, but Leddy is a top 4 offensive dman playing a #5 role and is still just 22 years old.

Who was that? Also Biggs is a BAMF. Not a ton of trade value, but still value.
Definetly not what would be needed for Weber.

I always found that weird. Hawks are stacked, but they never had a good 2nd line center. Does sharp play center at all?

The guy wasn't even PPG in the OHL, and he mustered a total of 1 assist in 9 playoff games. Doesn't scream very good production to me. Just because you're a former 1st round pick doesn't mean you automatically have good value.

I don't recall anyone projecting him to be a first liner player. There's always value for a guy who can play a solid 3rd line role and maybe second if needed. Hell take a look at the money Clarkson was getting thrown at him, guys like Ott, Clutterbuck and Clarkson those guys have value, and that's more along the lines of what he was projected to be.

I think the production is very in line with what was expected of him.

Started as a center in his career, played Center in the 2010 playoffs, but is more effective at wing. Not sure if it is his or Coach Q's decision to leave him on the wing

Exactly.

Biggs is a projected third liner from what I've seen. Rielly, meanwhile you just hope is going to end up developing into a top pairing d-man, keyword "hope." Kind of like what Weber is right now, except Weber is one of the best in the entire league.

Apparently a lot more familiar than you are with them. Reilly is a really good prospect and Biggs is decent but this is Shea Weber we're talking about. Would you accept that trade for Taylor Hall? Cause Shea Weber is worth more than he is and I know I wouldn't accept that trade for him.
