Based on last year, Anderson would obviously start for Team USA. |

We can get way more for miller elsewhere. I still say keep him. If he still wants to leave at the deadline than teams will start a bidding war and get more for him then than we would now. - LizzyJo
Unless some teams # 1 goalie is injured before the deadline I don't see that happening.

I agree with you. IMO Hemsky and prospects are not the same worth as miller. Not even close. |

Where are you wrong? Sweet baby Jesus...
First of all, Dubnyk had both a better GAA and Save % then Miller last year, behind what most would consider to be a very porous blue line.
Secondly, a 1st? For Miller? I'm not saying Hemsky is getting it done... But you sure as fack ain't getting a first, from Edmonton no less, for an aging Miller.
This may come as a surprise to many... But Dubnyk is the least of the Oils worries. |

I'd tend to agree.
With a great goalie like Miller, I'd think you could probably get more near deadline time from a team gearing up for a run.
However, if EDM throws in a 1st and a quality prospect... - jnwood2517
then ok..but they should throw in a 2nd rounder also if we are gonna take that overpriced pylon from the Oilers |

I foresee a lot of these goalie choices around the league not working out by February. |

nope, much more than that..this is Ryan Miller we are talking about..I would rather just take a 1st rounder and a monster prospect at the deadline then, Hemsky is a cap hit we could do without..actually he's a player we could do without - French-Connection
He's a rental... There would have to be a conditional pick or something in there.
No telling if he'd resign with the team he's traded to.
I don't think buffalo gets the package fans are expecting, IMO. |

Definitely possible.
However, we ARE talking about a pending UFA. Standard practice is a 1st, a player and a prospect. Maybe include a 2nd conditional upon him resigning with EDM... |

You got me... I have never seen the Miller give up a softy... Especially not last season... Are most recent frame of reference

well you might be the only fan in the world in Edmonton that thinks Dubnyk can help you more than Ryan Miller, dont get me wrong, you guys are on the verge of an amazing season IMO..but for us to give away a goalie that can lead a team to a stanley cup would be plain stupid of us to do for nothing..everybody in the NHL world knows the Oilers want to get rid of Hemsky badly..and I guarantee we will get a 1st rounder in the deal for Miller, thats a no brainer..hell look what we got for Pomer from Minny |

How so? I think Hemsky would thrive in Buffalo... - Eklund
For 20 games before missing 60 with an undisclosed upper body injury. |
|
|
|
Once in a while players like that get traded for each other... - Eklund
one has value and one has negative value...I just don't see it Edmonton would have to add more. Picking up Miller would be smart move for them for once though...all they seem to care about is flashy forwards and dmen who can score on the PP. We all know where that has gotten them
but you are entitled to your opinion |

I was going to say at least 30 games but that's close enough... |

Miller is awesome despite last year, look at his numbers of his career..2 years ago down the stretch when we almost got in he was the hottest goalie in the league..again..so last year he lost his heart for the first time, hell he's entitled, he is the 2nd best goalie in our history and no way we let him just go for nothing |

the deal would also including prospects swapping places as well.
Hemsky, according to sources familiar, does believe he is getting traded and is being told the decision is up to "the player he is being traded for.."
That doesn't mean Miller of course, but it is possible...

Lets agree that this deal will absolutely never happen... The 1st is a non-starter. For Mac T to use a first rounder for anything but a top pairing D would be travesty.

its cool, I hope the Oilers stick with basically the same team...get hyped up all summer and into fall. Its makes it more satisfying when they tank |

I think Quick, Howard and Schneider may all be above Miller on the Team USA depth chart at this point.

I like Miller, and think he's an excellent goalie, but here in Buffalo ppl def overvalue him. I think the oilers need to shore up their blue line, and team defense in general. Miller would help them for sure, but I wouldn't give up what some ppl are suggesting. On the other hand, Miller for Hemsky doesn't sit right with me as a Sabre's fan. I like Hemsky, but I can't help be reminded of Connolly. I'm not sure what's going to happen with Miller but Regier needs to make a decision soon. I don't think they'll be as much deadline interest in him as ppl expect. |
