You are a loser dude, NO WAY in any way shape or form is that a good deal for Buffalo. Think of better made up material. |

The funny part is it would not help the Oilers that much either.... it is just for fun, this will NEVER happen. |

Having Miller on the Oilers last season would have actually hurt the Oilers. Dubnyk had better numbers playing for a crappier defense. |

Buffalo was worse than Edmonton last year.
Buffalo: 29th in Possession, 30th in SA/G, 29th in PP, 26th in PK
Edmonton: 28th in Possession, 29th in SA/G, 8th in PP, 9th in PK
What these numbers suggest to me is that even strength the teams were pretty equal. A lot of that has to do with depth of the lineup. However, on special teams, Edmonton was significantly better than Buffalo. Tells me Edmonton had better skill in their lineup.
Millers overall numbers struggled because Buffalo had some of the worst special teams. Miller had better even strength numbers, and better numbers in OT than Dubnyk. If Miller was on Edmonton last year, I would confidently say they wouldve been in the playoffs. |

Canucks overall blow anyways.... what part of that team does not suck? And before you start trolling about how the Cannots are better than the oilers because the cannots have made it to the play-offs, two things:
1. Last Cannots vs Oilers games. 7-2 for the oil
2. Las time the Cannots won a Stanley cup... oh wait, that is why we call them the Cannots!!!!! |

The biggest thing that will rock a goalies total SV% is how good the teams PK is. Vancouver was a top 10 PK this year. They were middle of the road in both possession and PP (14th in both).
Vancouver was a decent team who just struggled on the PP a little bit. Buffalo was awful on the PP. Could barely hold the puck in the offensive zone. Constantly giving up breakaways, 2-on-1's, 2-on-0's while on the PP. If you watched every PP goal scored against them, Miller was left hung out to dry on 95% of them.
What do you think Buffalo's team numbers looked like the year Miller won the Vezina? (possession: 17th, SA/G: 21, PP: 17th, PK: 2) |

Not sure the stanley cup thing holds much weight. Our history is surely more successful, but theyve been the better franchise for the better part of 15-20 years.
And the last 5 haven even been close.
And as much as i hate to say it; until we see marked maturation from our kids as well as being proven otherwise, the nucks are still the superior team |

Rinne didnt have better splits than Miller last year. Nashville might have had a weaker PK, but certainly better team system than Buffalo.
Miller SV%: EVS - .928, PK - .862, PP - .879
Rinne SV%: EVS - .927, PK - .818, PP - .750
He gave up less goals, but thats because:
Buffalo SA/G - 33.5
Nashville SA/G - 27.8
Miller faced 162 more shots in less games played. |

Buffalo finished with more points than edmonton.
I can say very confidently that miller would NOT have gotten us in.
The oil wouldnt have made it with lundqvist in net |

No poop. That would roughly mean that he would have to have been the difference in 6-8 victories when we lost . Did Dubey cost us that many games? |

Thanks to the loser points and SO wins. Miller had a lot to do with that. Buffalo had 3 less regulation wins than Edmonton.
Having no emotional attachment to Edmonton, they wouldve been a playoff team with a better goalie. Certainly with Lundqvist. |

Of course not.
Stats aside, i dont think too many oiler fans are saying dubs is better than miller.
He hasnt proven as much nor matches him in talent at present.
But considering the better numbers behind what i consider a worse defence all eith half the salary, ill take dubnyk |

Where is this "worse defense" coming from? The numbers clearly show Buffalo was slightly worse. |

You dont watch enough of edmonton.
Not even that close actually.
They lost 9/10 in crunch time in the midst of a playoff race.
Dubnyk was absolutely NOT the issue.
Our core of kids just flat out werent ready to make it happen.
All with a terrible bottom 6 and one of the worst defences in the league.
Quality of shots was huge too. Dubs had no help |

Thats fine if people really think that, but personally Rinne is a product of a great system. You can plug any goalie in Nashville's system and they would look good. Look what happened with Lindback.
Rinne would struggle on a team that gives up a ton of shots and leaves him out to dry a lot.

I'll just continue to disagree to agree with you on this. Just trying to tell you that from a neutral perspective of the 15 or so EDM games I watched, goaltending was not good at all.
We're going in circles, so I'll just leave it at that. |

That isn't true at all, their coaching system was a mess. You've just said this without backing up your OPINION with no facts... |

I just posted the facts for you.
Miller was better than Rinne at all facets of the game despite facing 160 more shots in 3 less games played.
As for comparison of the teams? Nashville was better than Buffalo in everything but PK. And get this, Nashville gave up the third FEWEST shots against on the PK. |

K. I guess we'll chalk it up to dubs fault over a go to core of an 18,19, 21, 21 and a 22 year old. All with one of the worst bottom 6's and worst defences in the league.
Damn you dubnyk and your very respectable numbers facing the second most shots per game in the league |
